133  Davis DEC 6-0

How do you see Davis winning this?  Just hard for me to imagine him not walking into a takedown

opening spread is PSU -20 for anyone interested I was on a heater until Okie state Iowa state last night. If any word comes out on Drake missing PSU -20 is probably easy.

If Drake doesn't show up there's probably a 33% chance Iowa gets shut out completely. I'm not completely sold on Buchanon beating beating Barr.

picks from the heart:

125 - boring match, Cruz gets a last second takedown and stall rides the ankle. PSU fans are LIVID but I get to post the gif of RBY vs Gross and giggle gleefully. 3-0 Iowa

133 - Ayala dec. looks very similar to the Byrd match. Super boring. 6-0 Iowa

141 - Bart Simpson gets his offense going for all of 19 seconds for a 5-0 decision. 6-3 Iowa

149 - Parco decision 5-4. 9-3 Iowa

157 - Teemer decision; gives up 2 stall calls that he immediately follows up with blast doubles. 12-3 Iowa

165 - Messybrick major. I love Caliendo but it doesn't really seem like he got that much better since last year. The gap is wide here. 12-7 Iowa

174 - Haines comes close to a major. 12-10 Iowa

184 - Boring, tight match. Carter rides out his period on top but Gabe gets in on a late high crotch, lifts and drops Starocci for the rideout win. Gabe does his weird cross armed pose which Carter "sweet, gentle young man with movie star aspirations" Starocci takes issues with, pushes Gabe, gets team point deducted. The comments on twitter and the PSU board are hilariously self-unaware. 13-9 Iowa.

197 - Buchanan 2 takedowns to none but Barr gets in deep several times. 16-9 Iowa.

285 - Keuter gets thoroughly controlled in a 2 takedown match. 16-12 Iowa. I immediately go out to the clubs with the girls.

For the smooth brains out there - don't even try coming at me about how unreasonable this is because IDGAF. Go eat a calzone.

He beat Ayala last year, and can we be sure Ayala is actually wrestling and 100%

He lost to Ayala last year but maybe the injury might play a factor

The most canoe prediction of this entire thread.

That is my entry here because I want to piss off people.

My actual entry on Matness will be significantly different.

I'm surprised by all of the Parco over SVN picks. I'm more confident in SVN beating Parco than Teemer over Kasak.

It's because SVN was majored by Lovett a few weeks ago and Parco has looked very good this year.

The way to win this competition is by being bold. But there isn't really anything bold about a PSU blowout. The only "bold "picks I can make are Davis beating Ayala if he wrestles, Starocci majoring rather than a straight decision, and Barr with the upset (if you can call it that). If Ayala doesn't wrestle then Davis might be in the hunt for a major or tech. SVN and Parco feel like a coin toss and I wouldn't be surprised to see flip-flopping back-and-forth results this weekend/B1Gs/NCAAs.

Wt   Winner   Method   PSU   Iowa
125   Lilledahl   Dec   3   0
133   Davis   Dec   6   0
141   Bartlett   Dec   9   0
149   Van Ness   Dec   12   0
157   Teemer   Dec   12   3
165   Messinbrink   Major   16   3
174   Haines   Dec   19   3
184   Starocci   Major   23   3
197   Barr   Dec   26   3
285   Kerk   Major   30   3

I'm surprised so many guys are picking Teemer. I'm assuming they are all Hawkeye fanboys. I think Kasak is better and wrestles better guys in the room everyday than Teemer does, plus Teemer is bound to be rusty. I can't see a rusty Teemer beating Kasak. Maybe at B1Gs and NCAAs, but right now I got Kasak.
