After taking Lee down, Ramos threw Lee for a 6 point move and was very close to the pin.   He was up 8-1 but Lee came back.

Lee is definitely vulnerable if a #9 guy can do that.   Maybe Glory can take him out

Spencer told him, "nice throw" at the handshake then ran off the mat w/out smacking brands' hand and then head butted an aluminum pole...

Lol. I also noticed all those things.

Glory can but hasn't been having a dominant season so far himself.  Probably because of the weight cut.

Lee has a good schedule left if he keeps doing duals - deaugostino, mckee, barnett, mastrogiavann, cronin.

Think that pole was his dad

If Lee stays healthy and gets his matches in, they will need a special cleaning crew to scrub the remains of his opponents off the mats in Tulsa.

He looks pretty good physically.  By my eye test he's ahead of where he was at this point in January compared to his freshman year.  Similar situation, coming off surgery, gassed out first few matches.  But this time no giant knee brace and he looks more agile and free than he did in January 2018.  Which is why, if he has no setbacks physically, I think he'll be even better in March than he was in 2018 -- and he was a killing machine in Cleveland.

Maybe ... but he was staring at the lights in the ceiling for a while today after being taken down two slick times in a row.  And, if Ramos, had fastened his hold a bit tighter, there could easily be a thread entitled "I Enjoyed the Spencer Lee Era" followed by a removal of Lee from the Hodge Watch list.   Yes, I know it's a counterfactual "if" but it was a decided whiff of a possible "if".

If you lean in closely, you can hear an inspired Pat Glory doing push ups in his basement all night

Just a good wake up call.  He got pinned by Picc and then blew through the field in March.  This time he didn't get pinned and stuck his opponent flat as a pancake before the same period even ended.

And according to a previous thread, Glory won't have enough energy left over after cutting down to go down the stairs to his basement, let alone do any pushups.

They'll fill a 125 lb bracket in March and Lee will have to beat five guys to win just like anyone else.  But the only way I see that not happening is a fluke pin.  He was down 8-1 today and I think that if he hadn't gotten the pin that he would have eventually gotten a tech.

Hodge finalist group just got a little smaller.

Who’s left? RBY, O’ Toole, Starocci, Kerk?

O'Toole out right now so ...

And Lee.

but didn't he get "dominated" (if ya know what I mean)  early in his match? 🤔

Absolutely.  Nothing like winning by pinfall in the first period to get booted from the Hodge list.  Spencer, ye are banished.  Hopefully you can find a way to a spot somewhere on the podium in March.

A chippy Spencer is pretty interesting. Especially with the interaction with his coach’s.

Interaction with his coach's what?  What a teaser!

It’s on YouTube posted by Big Ten Network. He didn’t slap Brands hand and head butted the pole
