That would be starting at 118 I believe. Very salty indeed though. They combined for 5 NCAA titles. I think Davino, Bouzakis Mendez could match or even top that.  Davino would probably have to find a way to make 125 for it to be possible.

not that it matters but they had 9 finals appearances, so that would be the best metric for that group

also I don't think Davino Bouzakis Mendez get 3 titles

That is a 6-7-8 punch! A 1-2-3 must begin at 125. See above post for the rules. 🫡

Why? Their last dual started at 285.

Nebby-Goofers started at 157 last night. Taylor, Minto and Pinto were 1-2-3 for them. Won all three, too.

bold prediction in the sense that Mendez has one already and two more years of eligibility.  I think he wins at least one more and Davino takes at least one himself.  But maybe thats me being bold 🤷‍♂️

history will decide....I'm also a notorious tOSU hater and think that they all peak early.

There will be a 141 kid at another B1G school who might have a decent chance of snatching that crown in the next two seasons.

I think Mendez will be 149 next year (thought I had heard it somewhere reliable) but regardless - I dont think he needs to be particularly afraid of anyone (Marcus Blaze or anyone else)

If Blaze does not wrestle 133 next year Davino will be my pick to win the entire thing. I was always super high on him coming out of high school obviously I think most people were, but he has already expanded his neutral offense so much cannot imagine how good he will be with another year in that room.

Pretty sure Blaze is projected 141. Wrestling 138 in HS this season.

He weighed in for ironman at 134 and he could have weighed 140 so I am not sure if he will be a 141 right away. I think he sees himself as a 61kg guy at least for the time being.

Illinois announcer just said Crookham done for the year.  Is he just getting old info from the minnow or was there an announcement from Lehigh?

Bouzakis is a contender. Will be interesting to see what weights Davino, Bouzakis and Mendez are at next year. If one of Davino or bouzakis could go 125 that might end up being the best 1,2,3 punch of all time

I don't have any inside info but I am guessing that Mendez moves up to 149 next year for the following reasons:

1 - It will be better for his FS goals to cut a little less during the college season and then drop to 143 for FS.  This is the same strategy that Yianni, and Myles Amine used.

2 - Mendez is just so competitive I could see him wanting to go up to take out Henson - this will be espesially true if Henson wins again this year.

2 - It will be the best move for the team as it will allow both Bouzakis and Davino to get into the lineup.

I may be wrong but I think that may be that shakes out.

I got blocked from the wrestling room as soon as I said one thing about a post that wasn’t true.  Well, not as soon as, he had to throw in a bitch ass comment before blocking me.  Par for the course….

I've had the dude slide up in my DMs before at like 1AM on a weeknight to prove a point.  It was very weird.  I feel like he might not have a lot of friends outside of his Facebook group.

I dont think Nic would do well at 141 and ben seems small for 141. Nics style is so open and he really utilizes his power and explosiveness I think trying that same style at 141 would be a recipe for disaster, it sometimes is at 141. Vince nics younger brother flipped to Pitt so I wonder if Nic may join him there next year.

Always throws in the "lol's" too.  He and his other D2 sycophants.

I’d love to see him and Henson scrap. They’ll definitely hit in the next Olympic cycle at 65kg

Came up on FRL yesterday.  Kozak reiterated what Lehigh told him, but added in that Lehigh “thinks” he’ll be back.  Didn’t seem as definitive as the x post IMO.

I would venture to guess if they can still get him a medical he will not be back if they cannot he will try to be. Thats based on nothing substantial I know nothing about what's going on with him, but I would guess if he can get a year we will not see him in march.

Why wouldn’t he be able to get a medical?  His last match was on 12/20 and he’s only wrestled 2 duals and an open tournament.  Has anyone ever been denied a medical that didn’t wrestle past December?

Crookham already redshirted during the 2022-2023 season.  He wouldn't just need a medical, he'd also need a 6th year waiver.  The second part was routinely denied in the past, but are much more common now. The average medical redshirt situation would be a wrestler who has never redshirted in the past that gets injured less than halfway through the season.  Logan Stieber's freshman year would be an example.

I don't know that you get granted a 6th year waiver in advance though.  He might have to wait until his 5th year to get granted the 6th.  Even if it now can be granted in advance, I doubt there would be any clarity on that front by March.  I'd expect it to some down to how Crookham feels and if he's ready to compete.  He'd be weighing the chance of winning this year in whatever state of health he is in vs the chance of being granted a 6th year.  In any event, there isn't really any need to make a decision now unless Stanich or someone else pulling a redshirt would be his replacement.  In that case you'd want that person in the lineup asap to try and get enough matches to get an AQ for the conference.

Fair enough, TBH I didn’t realize that a lot of the guys announced as out for the season had not used a regular redshirt yet (Watters, Ragusin, Volk, Elam, Swiderski).  Even Bastida although not sure if he’s official yet.
