I don't think this is accurate.  I think Ferrari would wrestle Starocci at 197lbs. I think he wants no part of wrestling Starocci or anyone else at 184lbs.  Initially Starocci said he planning to go up to 197 at some point he changed that to 184lbs.  To me at this point Starocci is more to blame for the match not happening than Ferrari.  If Starocci offered the match at 197lbs then my opinion would change.

Cstar is 1000% to blame for the match not happening.  Aj couldn’t make 184 if you paid him.   Weakest call out of someone in a long time.  It’s like challenging me to a match at 106 lbs when I haven’t been able to make that since 1989.

What is not accurate? That is 100% what I said.  Starocci offered an NCAA illegal gambling match against Ferrari at 190 lbs knowing AJ could not make the weight and the NCAA would ban him for gambling.

I think if Flo paid them both $75K or something to wrestle at 197 after the season that Starocci would definitely do it.  Ferrari might depending on how bad he’s hurting for money.

My mistake.

Arnold to 174 really doesn’t make much sense to me on several levels:

1.  Didn’t he claim he spent the offseason bulking up?-

2. Didn’t Ferrari say he’d do whatever coach Tom Brands wants him to do?  Highly doubt he’d burn Ferrari’s redshirt and have Arnold drop to 174 where he already has 2 AA caliber guys including his nephew.  Although I suppose it’s possible that comment from  Ferrari was not actually true and he told Brands he wants to wrestle

3.  Yes, I get guys want to try to beat the best, but does anyone outside of the Ferrari family actually think he can win 184 this year?  He’s blowing whatever chance he had of becoming a 4xer if he wrestles this year

I believe Angelo has what it takes to win 184 this year. If he's the entry at 184 I believe that it CAN become a 3 horse race...not saying it WILL. I just think he's special and has the game PLUS mindset required to upset a guy like Carter.

For what it's worth: Kennedy is on the roster at 174 for Iowa's upcoming dual against WI. No backup listed. At 184, it says Gabe Arnold 'or' Angelo Ferrrari (in that order). The suspense!

Interesting that Nelson wouldn’t be an “or”

I'm sure he certified there, not sure how long it would take to get him down...

Jason Nolf gave an interview a year ago about his last year at PSU where he went nuts over Thanksgiving and gained 25lbs. He said he was up to 182lbs-183lbs and had to lose 25lbs in a week. He barely made weight for Bucknell, got taken down and was really dizzy. He did mention he still go the pin, though. So going from 184lbs to 174lbs seems pretty doable pretty quickly.

Here is the interview for those interested. I love hearing stories like this.

I dropped 22 pounds in one week. We lost in the 3rd round of the football playoffs and my first wrestling dual was the following Thursday. I dropped from 190 to 168 to wrestle a state champ who obliged me by whipping me 21-0, this was before techfalls were a thing. He wasn't THAT much better than I was, but after starving myself for a week I was as weak as a kitten and he just tossed me around like a gorilla does a suitcase.  It took me a couple weeks to get back to feeling decent again, pulling big weight sucks balls.

Cool story, but to be fair the guy from Bucknell (Hartman) he beat as a senior AA’d the prior year.

At first I thought maybe you were referencing the infamous Todrank (Buffalo) match, but looks like that was in February

The first time I saw this interview I had the audio off and saw captions and missed the part where he said Bucknell and immediately thought the same exact thing.

I accused you of not knowing how to cute weight?

yeah you responded to me saying I didn't know when arnold would be eligible to compete within the decent rules with an anecdote about someone without a confounding weigh in blowing up over thanksgiving.

The only point he has proven is that he wanted no part of wrestling AJ at the all-star or anywhere else.  And that is one match I would actually root for Carter in !

Keckeisen wasn't a good enough test for you?

I'd rather see him and ferrari in a spelling B at this point, neither is a particularly sharp.

To be fair I could probably count the number of egghead wrestlers I've ever known on one hand 😄

I don't know about spelling but the Focus does know sign language.

Are we living in the same multiversal plane?

In my universe, Carter didn't come out on social media and challenge Parker to a match using inflammatory language and impossible stipulations.  Did he do so in yours?
