Starocci is 105-4 including a RS year (2020) and a MFF here and there.

D'Emilio is 89-45 in the same period.

If D'Emilio wrestled 45 fewer matches he coulda been the next undefeated 4 timer. Let that be a lesson to the kids out there.

When did we start counting RS matches on a wrestlers record? Did we just lose the only undefeated wrestler in college history?

The whole RS matches topic is interesting. I had written this on another forum: Even the older redshirt rules could result in "career" records that didn't always align with the perception of what a wrestler's career record should have been. I will use Logan Stieber as an example. His official career record is 119-3, but he actually had a 5-3 record his freshman year before he was injured and was later granted a medical hardship waiver for that year, thus officially erasing those eight matches from his "career" record: "Stieber started the 2010-11 college season as the starting 125-pounder as a true freshman for the Buckeyes, but he tore ligaments in his left hand in December. He had a 5-3 record at that point and was sidelined for the rest of the college season."

With Rocky coming back next year (sounds like redshirt of some kind), there doesn't seem to be a reason to keep Sinclair on his redhsirt.  With Rocky and Colton Hawks returning next year, Sinclair can redshirt then vs wasting a year of eligability sitting on the bench.  Sinclair has shown he can be very competitive at 197 now.  Am I missing something?

How good but totally over-matched he is at '97...

Let him go '84 for the NEXT 4 years; he has a chance to compete next year at '84. I think he could maybe AA this year, but not win it.

Glad they made the decision to RS him.

Yes. All you have to do is look at him to see that a year of maturing will be hugely beneficial. I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't even had to shave yet. Missouri is having a completely injury plagued season and adding him to the lineup might add a few points in March, but it's not like they are relatively close to being in the trophy race.

Yup...I'd only amend what I said to say, obviously, when I say "overmatched," it's just because he's a natural '84(if not '74). But he's been competitive with AA-caliber athletes save for the #1 ranked '97 in the Country.
