You're not making sense. I didn't say Arnold is going to beat Plott. I just challenged an outlandish claim with a more reasonable one.

I think Arnold might take plott would be my only addendum to this post.

Your original take came before the one you are calling outlandish.

If you like Cael you should like DT.  His corner coaching is very similar and his assistants are well behaved.  If you lean toward TnT and coaches who run out on the mat throwing fits then you won't like DT.  Its prob harder to see his approach/style on TV than if you are there in person.  They are managing tactics & time well to get majors & techs.  I'd say his brick in Bedlam was optimal time to throw.  They prob learned something from first couple duals.  Pretty sure Gilman threw the brick in Utah V in Sprately match.  They lost it and needed it in Amine match as Barraclough had locked hands in last 5 sec of TB.

But what if I love all the people?

While I am clearly in the bag for Penn State, I harbor no ill will toward TNT. I have actually attended more duals at Carver (2) than Rec Hall/BJC (0).

How do you feel, because you had Smitty and Co. over there for the last 30 years and he was no shrinking violet.

OSU homer but I've gotta go with Iowa. Iowa is going to show up fired up and mad. It'll be a clash for sure. I wonder if we'll see DT raise his voice; if not, maybe Gilman will. lol

I'm not sure why that matters.

I would think it matters exactly the same as the post I'm replied to and the post that one replied to.  And yours.

Will only believe it when I see it.

Past results are "hope & crash" after tough OSU teams failed time after time.

Taylor may have them ready but Iowa will be peaking more for them than at NCAA's.

125:  Spratley MD Petersen (4-0 OKST)

133:  Ayala MD Witcraft (4-4 tie)

141:   Jamison MD Block (8-4 OKST)

149:  Parco MD Young (8-8 tie)

157:  Teemer DEC Fish (11-8 IOWA)

165:  Caliendo DEC Amine (14-8 IOWA)

174:  Hamiti DEC Kennedy (14-11 IOWA)

184:  Plott DEC Ferrari/Arnold (14-14 tie)

197:  Buchanan DEC Surber (17-14 IOWA)

285:  Hendrickson FALL Kueter (20-17 OKST)

Caliendo and Amine met twice before on the same day during Big Tens and Caliendo won both in SV, so that one could flip. I also think Ferrari has a chance against Plott, but we haven't seen him wrestle enough to have a good idea.

That’s with no Teemer and OSU getting a major at 157.  Flip that to an Iowa decision and it’s 17-15 OSU which is about where I’d have it right now.

With the new rankings WS has them dropping to #4 tournament and #9 dual, that's still without Teemer.  Hard to image 7 dual teams not named Penn St better than them.  Point wise they need ~20 to surpass the 2nd ranked, won't get all of that from Teemer.  I think that #2 team a little shaky.  They only dropped Sasso to #6.  We all hope Sammy AAs but it looks doubtful right now and 6 rank doesn't reflect the current status.

A big part of their #9 dual team rank in wrestlestat is the no Teemer assumption. Wrestlestat has them losing one point matches to Cornell, Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Nebraska, and Ohio State. And in each of those cases they have Isaiah Fenton losing at 157 (5 out 6 by MD). Against Virginia Tech they have Fenton losing by TF and Iowa losing by 8. Insert Teemer there and it comes down to tie breakers.

So assuming Teemer goes they are third behind He Who Shall Not Be Named and I forget.

True but for some reason they dropped from 7 to 9.

And who is this one you will not speak of?

Just looking through those matchups on wrestlestat all of those duals would be super close, especially without Teemer. The UNI dual has some interesting predictions.

Until I see how David Taylor handles a match day squad (does he set up his lineup optimally? does he know in match tactics/adjustments? does he know when to and when not to throw the brick? can he manage the clock?) I think I have to lean toward TNT and Iowa.
