think ISU can keep it close out of the gate but unfortunately I don't see the streak ending

125: (ISU) meza vs  Petersen - isu 4-0
133:  (ISU) E frost vs ayala  4-3  isu- swing match could see frost picking up the W*
141:  (ISU), Redding or J frost vs block  7-3 isu
149: # (ISU) Echemendia vs parco 10-3 isu
157:.  (ISU), Johnson  vs teemer 10-7 isu
165:  (ISU) Euton vs caliendo  10-13 iowa

184:  (ISU) Bockman vs  arnold  10-19 iowa

125: Meza dec Cruz/Petersen: 3-0 🌪️

133: Ayala dec Frost: 3-3

141: Redding dec Block 6-3 🌪️

149: Ech dec Parco 9-3 🌪️

157: Teemer fall K Naak. 9-9

165: Caliendo tech Euton/Gaitan 14-9 🐤

174: Brands maj dec. Riggins 18-9 🐤

184: Arnold dec Bockman 21-9 🐤

197: Buchanan dec Carroll 24-9🐤

285: Keuter dec Herrera 27-9 🐤

I do not see a realistic path for ISU to win. Even if Paniro goes at 157 and upsets Teemer (which I don't see happening), that makes it 21-12. If Yonger goes at 285 and majors Keuter (which I think he'd only get a decision) that makes it 21-16. They'd have to pull an upset at 133, 184, or 197 (which I think 133 is most likely but I still wouldn't pick it) to make it 19-18. An uphill battle to say the least.

125- Peterson dec Meza 3-0 Iowa

133- Ayala dec Frost 6-0 Iowa

141- Redding dec Block 6-3 Iowa

149- Parco dec Ech 9-3 Iowa

157- Teemer dec Johnson 12-3 Iowa

165- Caliendo tf Euton 17-3 Iowa

174- Kennedy mdec Riggins 21-3 Iowa

184- Arnold dec Bockman 24-3 Iowa

197- Buchanan dec Carrol 27-3 Iowa

285- Bastida dec Kueter 27-6 Iowa

Seems way to one sided for Iowa but that is how I see each individual match going. 125 through 149 are all true toss ups. Also looking forward to 184 through 285. The two large favorites in the dual are Iowa at 165 and 174.

Remember last year at  this time when ISU was heavy favorites and Cyclone fans packed the house to watch the streak end? Epic coaching failure

Epic would be an understatement. Dresser got completely outcoached and IIRC ISU dropped around 4 tossup matches. Kind of surprised that Cyclone fans didn't make more noise about it. Nice to see CyHawk get competitive again though.

Is there reason to believe we don’t see Bastida?  That’d be disappointing if so, that’s probably the match I’m most looking forward to.

He hasn't wrestled yet this season with Herrera getting the nod in Navy and Stanford duals.  With some of the guys who have been around for a few years, I've noticed there will be a second semester contingent that is not yet eligible for whatever reason

That's the pick you ask about? What impressive wins has Redding had? R12 in 2023 but who did he beat? I think Block can be a 1 or maybe 2 wins at NCAAs type of guy this year, so why not? He's a big recruit.

Well I also think of redding as a round of 12 type guy, haven't seen much out of Block that makes me think he's a gonna get multiple wins at NCAAs.....but let me look at his HS....

Redding has beat:

Aaron Nagao

Wyatt Henson

Mosha Schwartz

Ethan Fernandez

Kyle Biscoglia

Taylor LaMont

Domenic Zaccone

Kellyn March

Cody Phippen

Block's best win was 5-4 over Nash Singleton

To be fair, block only has 3 career matches.

The elementary school math required to secure riding time vs. the gassed Patrick Kennedy was the most glaring of several errors.
