Unfortunately, I don't think Kennedy ever sees the starting lineup barring injury. Sucks. He and his family love Iowa.

Do you think he'll end up at SDSU? I think DeVos is out of eligibility after this season, but not sure. I agree, it'll suck not to see Kennedy in the lineup. I'm more disappointed that Siebrecht (and to a lesser extent, Glaze) is gone. Had high hopes for him in a black & gold singlet this season.

I listened to an interview with Gabe Arnold from media day where he said 174 was a harder pull. So maybe he stays up at 184 even after this year, allowing Kennedy to slot in at 174

Then what about Brands?

at least they just didn't force a suicide but on him like cael would have done.

Maybe he pulls an Aaron Nagao and gets a “medical redshirt”

Did we ever see him at 157? Why do I seem to remember him being down there and looking like the cut was hurting him gas tank wise in a few of his matches?

I don't remember him at 157. I know he wrestled off Marinelli at 165 one year.

Wasn’t he adamant last year that 184 was only a one time thing and that 174 was his true weight?  Did he grow that much in one offseason?

Brands will be the starter know matter how badly he performs.   Took no legit shots against the Beavers.

Watch it, now!  He isn't overrated at all an will place Top 4!

His dad said he worked hard to bulk up for this year

So he most likely wasn’t actually beaten out by Brands and this was the plan all along?

Yes, his dad also specifically said there was no wrestle off.

I feel compelled to mention, because folks want to throw out that he didn't perform that well at U23 Worlds, that he ran roughshed on the field at U23 Trials.  Not a single person made it to the end of the a match with him, including Minny/Mizzou's Whiting and Cornell's Ramirez (2x).  He teched everybody he wrestled.

It isn't like he is rump roast.  He will have his say in matters.

Edit: I felt compelled because a lot of folks have been writing him off, same as Bouzakis (who also lost to a teammate).
