Both cases seem to be done with proxies, which may have been legal (who knows what the rules are now, let alone in the past?). However, PSU is definitely in the poaching game. People associated with PSU are actively poaching guys, some of whom were definitely not in the portal. 1

Calling an Olympic medalist years after they graduate to see if they want to join your wrestling club (NLWC) isn't exactly the same thing as paying an active wrestler to displace your 25-4 6th year senior on your college team. MM does a ton of posturing every episode. But he does have some good guests and does manage to cover some interesting stuff.
