I meant if RBY won, wouldn’t the two have met next round - if I read the brackets correctly?

If?  He couldn't stall he way to a victory.   He looked like he walked 100 miles to wrestle his bout at the Olympics.  I can see why he tucked his tail and ran away to Mexico.

The 5th year at psu really helped him internationally.

I'm not disputing that... but I was looking for a bit more of a fight from RBY.

That's all I'm sayin' here.

And the cut was a bit much for RBY as well.

In my opinion (and what do I know), RBY needs to get some more experience against top level guys. The olympics is a heck of a time to get a feel for any of the top 8 guys in the world.

He's not a fighter. He is a folkstyler!

Got a win though unlike rby

Oh I both predicted weeks ago whoever gets the Egyptian or Guinea guy would notch a win (in my post saying calm down about RBY)
And after the draws were released I doubled down saying "I genuinely don't see how RBY can win his first match"

No pissin contest here. Draws were what they were.

RBY loses by tech. I wonder what’s next for him. Seems like a more natural 61kg guy.

I was assured by Basch that RBY feels great at 57 and may stay there long term. “Likes how he feels. “

I think the Armenian is often at 61 too, correct?

I realize that this is the Olympics, and the wt cls are cut down to 6 form 10.

RBY would be better served wrestling 61Kg vs 57Kg.

He got his Olympic experience and that will be w/ him for life... here's hoping that he'll not bail out of wrestling FS and keep on plugging at it until he says, that's enough.

We'll see how it progresses from here.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yeah if he stays in Mexico (obviously) he has the talent to jump levels with experience, but feels like he will go MMA route

RBY had to cut a ton of weight to get down to 57kg. Nevertheless, he qualified for the Olympics and is forever an Olympian.

Amine is always there in the end, you know this. If he isn't wrestling for Bronze can you even consider it a major event 😉

It went just about what I thought it would between Cruz Ad Higuchi...

Possible (probable) repechage for Darian.
