If Penn State shuts out Iowa, are the Brands officially on the hot seat?

Recommended Posts

First off, I think a Penn State shutout of Iowa is EXTREMELY unlikely.  The dual is at CHA which mean Iowa will get some benefit from the refs.  I think they win at least 4 of 10 matches (Ayala, Woods, Franek, Caliendo).

However, if Penn State managed to shut out the Hawks this would be a first...and also two huge losses in a row for Iowa.  Would this actually cause the Brands' seats to become warm or even hot?

Also, a loss to Oklahoma State likely puts them more on the hotseat than a loss to this year's Penn State squad.

Yes, but only if you leave forever if Penn State does not shut out Iowa. Deal?

C'mon nhs67, think of the greater good and take one for the team!

If they shut Iowa out, will you finally leave us all alone - forever?

If you could Ban Jimmy or turn a Basketball into a Cinnabon, which would you choose and why?

i am an idiot on the internet

You are already on the books as leaving if Messenbrink beats  Caliendo...so you probably won't be here to check up on that bet anyway.

As much as I am looking forward to PSU attempt the shutout, the OSU dual will be the more interesting event for sure.

There's already a bet.  Messenbrink vs Caliendo straight up pick em.  Caliendo loses Jimmy is gone forever

I don't think it will be a shutout, so I would not take the bet.

That said, Cinnatwat doesn't follow through on bets.  Never has.  Ergo, if I win... I still lose.

Why?  At least three people here enjoy my existence.  You couldn't find three people on this planet that don't believe you're a shitstain to society.

Make a fair poll on this site and if fewer than 3 people want me to stay on this board I will leave willingly.  Fair means it has to be objectively worded like "Do you want Jimmy Cinnabon to permanently leave this forum?" and leave the poll open for at least 1 week to get a sufficient sample size.

The idea that the Brands would be on 'the hot seat' is interesting.  What would be the alternative?  Iowa would have to bring on board someone who has multiple NCAA titles and World and Olympic titles in order to compete with Cael.   Who comes to mind?  It would have to be somebody like Burroughs, Dake, Taylor, Scneider or Steiber.  You need a magnetic personality with a pedigree.  All great coaches have a shelf life.

They should be regardlesss of the outcome.
In the business world some companies elevate terrific salesman to managerial status. I applaud those who promote from within, however in many cases a great salesman does not mean they have what it takes to motivates others. Same with wrestling where top tier wrestlers with all kinds of accomplishments move up to coaching. Sometimes it works and the wrestler transitions well and sometimes it doesn’t. In my humble opinion the Brands bros lack what it takes in today’s collegiate wrestling world and need to go.

Just a lurker, but I like Cinnabon being here. His threads usually generate a lot of interesting/entertaining comments. Never seen him post anything mean-spirited directed at another poster, either

Are you already laying down the groundwork to Welch on our bet?

This board needs plenty more "Freds" to balance out this board. EXCELLENT feedback Fred!

They won a team title two years ago and have taken third and second since then.  People have got to stop the madness.

What if Spencer retired tomorrow and said, "I want the head coach position."  How would Hawkeye nation react?  Tell him to wait until the Brands retire?
