"AC Slater did in fact get a scholarship to wrestle at Iowa!! "

You don't actually "get" the scholarship if you don't enroll there. But this is semantics over a fictional situation, so in keeping with the theme - Thanks Preppy

this begs the question, Is AC Slater the greatest television fictional wrestler of all time? I'll hang up and listen!

Just watched "American Wrestler: The Wizard. Very enjoyable movie. It shows how small wrestling was in CA back in the late sixties into the seventies.

Acting was very good. The wrestling scenes were pretty well done. I recommend it. I watched it on iTunes movies for $2.99.

Wasn't there a documentary about Lance and Colin Palmer during their hs days that included a clip of them wrestling a bear and other farm livestock? I can't remember if it was a full documentary film or a Flo production or Youtube video, and I have no idea what made me think of this video just now 🤪

I don't think Beyond the Mat ever was released. It starred Kurt Angle as the antagonist coach

Yeah, I never saw it. I did some voice work for the background scenes, got an IMDB credit for it, but never saw this ever released.

Insert catchy tagline here.

  • Veritas - A man pursues his lifelong dream of becoming a national wrestling champion at the risk of losing his eyesight.

A man... A MAN?!?

That "man" is none other than  LEHIGH's JON TRENGE!!!

An EXCELLENT movie documentary on how he managed wrestling after having a detached retina.

Which happened towards the end of January of the dual season,  prior to the post season during his  RS frosh year.

3X EIWA champ... 3X AA going 2,2,3... If he didn't have the detached retina happening then, Jon would 've most likely been a 4X AA, let alone a possible 4X EIWA champ.

He was that good.

I remember back in like 2002 seeing a trailer for a documentary type movie titled "Life is Easier." It was about Jeremy Hart's senior season in his quest from State College HS in PA, in his quest for a PIAA title. The trailer looked really good and had his vioice over saying "what would if do if i wasnt wrestling... I dont know..."

After that I never heard anything about the film and dont know if it ever released..

Pinned is actually quite good. Palmer's dad comes across of a bit of a douchebag, but I think that was sort of the filmmakers point. It's still a solid watch, though, if for no other reason than to see the inner working of the St. Eds program.

Takedowns and Falls is also really well done.
