If nothing else it's a really good recruiting video.

For Tom Ryan, Cael Sanderson, Pat Pop, Sean Bormet, Rob Koll, Zeke Jones, etc.

NOTHING. People should be able to use their money how they see fit.

Betting on games in which they played would require a draconian punishment

Then change the rules.  If there are rules there should be consequences else get rid of the out of bounds lines.

Then don't complain about enforcing the rules.

I couldn't disagree any more.  I also hate this kind of mentality lol.  I break rules I agree with just to keep everyone on an even keel

For what?

Brands has do do his job and follow through all the way with this.  I wouldn't expect he gets what he is looking for.  I don't think he expects success.  But to suggest he just "shut up and take it" is a bit narrow minded.

All I said was good luck.  You agreed with me that he most likely doesn’t get what he wants.   Narrow minded …..hmmmmmmm

Rule following as a standalone trait is a flaw.  Self-preservationist, hollow, and standing for nothing

no fair minded person thinks that makes sense. 🙄

just looking around - it seems something like 60-70% of laws make sense.  in a world like that, full of idiots and their ideas, you can either follow along like a little bitch or risk the occasional arrest

ok, so you think some college kid who placed a few bets should have their career stripped from them? You think thats a good rule? Not a vulgar bureacratic overreach?

He never one time said that, he blamed the dept of justice for going after them and not other programs and was using that as the reason they shouldnt be punished.

They broke the rules. Regardless of what i think of the rule, they broke it.

I think if Nelson didnt skip the meeting he may have heard the punishment for it and may not have done it. They dont have anybody to blame but themselves. You reap what you sow

You come of as very fearful, yes.  I find that sad.

If me not wanting to risk the "occasional arrest" and lose my job and my kids see me in jail comes off as "fearful" so be it. The risk ain't worth the reward hoss..

...you have the mentality of a child

you can be arrested before and after the kids.  life is long my friend.  you're thinking too narrowly here.
