Awesome! Thanks for your help.

Seems like Koll may be suspect character. What’s the story with Foxcatcher, why can’t he spell if he is in fact educated, and do we think the recruits will be smart enough to stay committed to Stanford, which has a much brighter future given that Koll is getting ancient?

A lot of irony going on here.... But anyway, are you saying his character is suspect because of comments he made about the UNC campus?

The UNC coaches page was updated with Francois (Dr. by the way) and Darmstadt. The update continues to have Ramos as the assistant.

Not to mention, he is poking fun at Koll's spelling.  Koll couldn't read until he was in 4th grade.  I would say it is possible that Coach Koll would likely be diagnosed with a learning disability today.

"Seems like Koll may be suspect character"

Does your character have a mustache? Does your character wear glasses? Is your character bald?

Drowning in data, but thirsting for knowledge

I just came back from helping at super 32. One of the directors is a sport administrator (wrestling among others) at UNC. Ramos spent a lot of time up in the box with us. She told me he was already working with Rob.

Good things appear to be ahead for UNC and for Oklahoma State, to which UNC's most recent head coach has returned.    Regarding Stanford... hopefully matters will turn out well for them too.   It remains to be seen how the recent changes will affect the wrestling program out there.   The dual with Duke out there is in just over a week, so we'll likely hear more soon enough...

Here's Stanford wrestling's team page:

Who are the assistant coaches?   This page doesn't seem to have been updated for a while:

Not listed is a father of one of the Stanford wrestlers.

He's back in the Bay Area helping out at a high school a bit down Highway 101.

Although it's not likely that he'll technically be a Stanford coach, he'll be in the room and the dad's wrestling resume is quite impressive.

It will be interesting to see if the dad's younger brother, who's wrestling accomplishments are even better - and is up the 101 coaching at a HS a couple of hours away - gets into the Stanford room.

Someone mentioned on one of the other discussion threads that Ramos, while he was sitting in as Interim Head Coach, recommended to the AD to reach out to Koll at Stanford for the job. There have also been photos of Koll and Ramos on social media hitting the recruiting trail and what have you. Nice to see the UNC wrestling on firm ground. It will be exciting to see the program succeed.

Letting Ramos go right now would be a bad move, as he has extremely close ties to one of the best youth/high school clubs/coaches in the country, who happens to have founded a league of elite clubs form coast to coast. Tony will have greater access to more of those recruits than most coaches. Koll didn't get where he is today, making what he makes today, by luck.

Gotta assume this is in reference to the Abas brothers...

What if Coaches Koll, Ramos & crew can achieve something that N.C. State has occasionally been achieving... recruiting from in-state and making champs out of them?   Such efforts could boost fan attendance and wrestling's likelihood of survival in the South.

N.C. State had an NCAA champ a few years ago who is apparently originally from North Carolina.
