Sammy Sasso shot ...

@Husker_Du can you update us on the Sammy situation?  Saw this on HR

Initially, after the surgeries they thought things looked good. But, after a few days, they found out Sammy could not walk without aid, and the new outlook was he would go to a rehab facility, but things were still looking good. It turns out he has lost a lot of weight, and they found out his colon was perforated or torn either from the gunshots, or during a surgery,
and he has been excreting/leaking from it. This has caused an infection (peritonitis). They tried to repair his colon, it, but it doesn't sound like they were able to...(?)
and there are concerns due to his weight loss and weakness from the infection that he may not be able to handle another surgery just yet. To make matters worse, he has yet to respond to the antibiotics used to treat the infection. The situation is very serious. Let's keep Sammy and the Sasso family in our thoughts and prayers.

Haven't heard this in CBUS.

We knew he had colon surgery and had some sort of spinal injury and he was going to have to go to rehabilitation facility.  Posted a pic of him and his parents sometime last week. Things can change in a flash though.

Mineo posted it on his twitter feed but I'm assuming he's just regurgitating what was posted on HR.  Wishing @Husker_Ducould update us

Colon surgery is very difficult. A plastic surgeon I knew had asked me about my grandfather who was also a surgeon. I didn't know anything about it but I told him my grandfather's specialty was colon and rectal surgery. My plastic surgeon friend said he could perform his surgery in the dark blindfolded, but doing colon and rectal surgery was extremely delicate and difficult to do. So many things are connected that being off by a millimeter or less could have really severe consequences. Like somebody could die or end up needing a colostomy bag forever.

i just got off the phone with a member on the staff.

he said Sammy is doing good and walking on his own and doing rehab.

take it for what it's worth. perhaps there's more going on and they don't want to say much. or perhaps it's exactly as they told me.

i've talked to his mother once right after it happened. and i've thought about contact sammy or his parents again. but i also want to respect their privacy and not be that guy at this time.

Well that's much better news than Mineo had. Glad to hear it!

I believe Minnow does currently live in the area where Sasso is from, so I’m guessing he has sources and it’s likely correct.  If someone made that up that’s crazy messed up…

I believe Mineo lives in the Northampton School District area and Sasso Nazareth but those are contiguous districts so, yes.

he said he got the info from an ohio state forum.

i can't imagine it was 'made up'. i'd assume it was just misinformation or rumor stuff and not malicious.

Latest post from Ohio State forum...

"Better update from a really good source: Sammy has an infection, it’s not Peritonitis as stated above.

He has been battling it but it’s not as serious as thought to be, he’s still in really good spirits."

Just curious, what is the Ohio State forum?

Agreed. Not the most reliable sources.

Ohiowrestling.net is a good, old school forum with reliable posters, most of which use their real names. It's been pretty quiet on the Sammy front over there though but most of the time it's information posted that isn't just speculation or hearsay.

Wouldn't say it's unreliable. There are knowledgeable connected posters over there. As for OWN, every time I visit the sound of my old 2400 baud rate modem echo's through my skull.
