I mean... standing side by side last year and you would think Artalona was the 157lber and not Zapf so I am good with it.

And Cosgrove looks to be redshirting.  Weird.

"grey shirting," I guess you mean.  That thing that only Cornell is accused of abusing doing.

Mike Grey Shirting is within the rules.

Roster says that Zapf was 2017 Pennsylvania state champion at 106 pounds - not sure 149 is tough cut for him.

Ivies in many sports use grey shirts like PG years or other ways - nothing unique about Cornell doing it other than maybe they have had more guys we noticed since they have been in the top 10 of wrestling.   Takes a commitment to delay your life the extra year and not all wrestlers or other college athletes will make that choice.  Maybe NIL will make it more common? I'm fine with it at all schools and admire the commitment.

Not to mention - is CJ Composto redshirting:

WrestleStat | CJ Composto (PRTC) Profile

Whatever you want to call it, yes, CJ will not wrestle for Penn this year. Carmen Ferrante will man 141 for the Quakers this year.

And, I do like the swap between Zapf and Artalona - I think it suits both of them physically and stylistically very well this season. Looking forward to seeing them both wrestle this weekend at Keystone.
