You would think so....

How long does something like that take to recover from? Man, I don't even know if they can even project recovery on something so extensive.

is this the same sort of infection that stifled Carson Manville's career?

No.  Carson had a different kind of disorder all together - compartment syndrome.

Peyton's condition looks more like that of the former Utah, 49er, KC, Washington NFL QB, Alex Smith, although I'm not saying it's identical.

I don't remember Carson having skin graphs. His was Compartment Syndrome if I remember correctly.

Are MRS handed out proactively?

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

How do you mean?

They gave AntMan two years two years before his clock was supposed to be over.

Thanks for the clarification.  I'm not familiar with Compartment syndrome so I wasn't sure.  Either way best wishes to PR!

I mean, do they rule on a redshirt before the season is even missed?

The NCAA is likely still adjudicating MRS for this past season, so I don't think they'll be processing them for a season that has not yet begun, at this point.

Once they place the skin grafts, they don't take that long to heal.

It's probably the rehabbing of that leg over the next year to try to get it back to something of what it was before that will be most challenging to Peyton.

He did an interview recently (bader show maybe?) where he talked about watching the guys in the room and wanting to come back.  No idea on timing, but it sounds like he plans to return.
