Mesenbrink to win the title this year at 165. Defeating O'Toole along the way

I think I see what MP is talking about regarding that "different grass" in California, it ain't just the astroturf.

I would like to see Rowley and Lamer go to Cal Poly! If not there then Oregon State!

I am with you on both of these.

Would you please provide a link to this NCAA rule and maybe clarify what you mean by "involved?"

...

Maybe you mean specific contract negotiations.  Administration is responsible for compliance that contracts don't violate rules (like be contingent on athletic participation).

This is what I mean; the school can monitor compliance but as I understand it they aren't supposed to coordinate opportunities. I think the clearinghouses are a combination compliance system and wink.

To be clear, I don't have a problem with any of it either. If it were up to me I'd let the schools openly bid on players.

WrestleStat is now listing Chance McLane (formerly of Oklahoma State) as a member of Arizona State's wrestling team for next season.  I hadn't seen or heard anything on that myself.  Flo Wrestling transfer tracker does not show him as going to ASU.

Good pickup.  He can start at 165

Unless I'm mistaken tomorrow is the last day before the portal closes

To enter without penalty, right?

They don't have to 'commit' yet, do they?

That is my understanding.  If they don't enter by tomorrow and do wish to transfer after, Bono or equivalent will need to sign off

Is there some date at which you can no longer exit the portal?  In other words stuck where you were.

Good get.  Cal Poly is going to be solid next year again.

That 149-184 stretch might be the best in the P12 next year

149 - Lamer

157 - Lamer

165 - Wick

174 - Rowley (Kemp?)

184 - Priest

Not sure Kemp is coming back, though.

Did they also score Rowley? Didnt' see that announced.

I don't think those 5 beat the ASU 5 through those weights. Parco, Teemer and Montalvo with wins, Rowley a slight favorite depending on which Valencia shows up.  Wick definitely wins.

Priest is probably the guy who should have been starting for them at 184 to start and end the season for them.

At the beginning of the season Brawley was going 184 because Kemp was injured and it was supposed to be temporary with Priest doen at 174.  Had the writing been there they could have went Brawley then Priest for the entire season.  It would habe definitely given them a better shot at an at-large.

I am assuming they get Rowley.

I think it is closer than you might think.  The Lamers will wrestle Parco and Teemer close.

I think Montalvo has HEW.  He gave up damn near every time I watched him wrestle.  Priest wins that one next year (methinks).  Give him the full year at 184 and he will do well.

Kemp or Rowley VS Valencia will be good.

Wick wins 165, agreed.

Honestly I wish ASU 174-197 would all drop a weight.

Edit: Or Vasquez, Parco, and Teemer all go up one.

How do you know how close I will think it will be? I just said that Parco and Teemer will win those matches. I think they will be close matches and I actually would like to see them win those matches. However, right now,  the edge goes to  the multiple AA's Parco and Teemer. Cal Poly will be solid again - but it's a stretch to say they have the best 149-184 in the Pac12. As a side note, are you saying Wick and Legend are switching places in the lineup? I had not heard that, but I think it makes sense.
