Well sure ... but haven't we previously discussed that there's a good doctor of plastic surgery living in your area?

So if the results here mean anything…

125: Zinkin/Spratley

133: Jax

141: Raney

149: Vega

157: Landon

165: Swiz

174: Facundo (Wow)

184: White (Double Wow handling Berge)

197: Merrill

Hwt: Ross/Doucet

i don't quite understand why Facundo over Norman is a 'wow'.

not picking on you....that reaction seems to be the consensus.

I'd say 165 and 174 will get a revisit.

Honestly, probably not a well thought out “wow”. But I don’t think Facundo performed as well as he could have last year and I really thought they brought Norman in to take that spot. A younger guy that transfers from the academic accolades of Stanford, who went to Blair, and did well his freshman year. Maybe I’m still hanging too much on his close match with D. Hamiti. But without looking at specific stats, to me, Norman “seems” like the better wrestler.

Same surprise, although maybe for a different reason, with my “double wow” with Mikey White over Berge. They for sure brought Berge in while Ryder recovers. Didn’t think White was that far along to put that on him.

Agree 100%. I’d throw 184 in there also.

I’m curious how 125 and 285 look in the room.

I think 285…DT will want to see how Ross performs against top talent and will go with whoever he thinks scores the most points in March.

Think the consensus is Facundo has reached his ceiling while Norman still has yet to find his.

I personally have heard you bring up the fact that the last time we saw Norman wrestling, he lost a lot.  So I never thought of the skill gap between them being that wide.

165 could be 3 deep.  Routledge wasn't too far off Ski.

Jax/Vega/Robideau haven't missed a step.

Mikey White is going to be a problem for people.  He wrestles like a young Spratley, meaning he will get pinned or make some poor decisions but will win a bunch he shouldn't.

The Clock whipped the operator continuously.

He must have made popcorn at 141 and 174.  165 Stiles match, made me think if you get to a leg and elevate it you should be allowed to get a step out point.  The split and no action is NOT adding to technique.

What does it all mean as far as the starting lineup?

Jamison wins 2-1 in OT over Ramirez, then loses 6-5 to Ja. Raney.

Swiderski defeats Lockett in OT.

Facundo beats Norman.

Dispassionate Penn State grad and fan.

I would think it is a data point, but nothing set in stone - especially at 165 and 174. Raney winning at 141 this early in the year as a true freshman would put him in the drivers seat in my opinion. At 184, White's upside is insane. To beat a guy like Berge (former AA, and multiple age level world medals) like he did in what, his 4th year of wrestling ever?? Guy is going to be a problem for the field.

Imagine being Norman and leaving a Stanford education to be...a backup at a bad academic school. I thought DT was going to have a huge impact on Berge, Norman, Lockett, and Merrill. No jumps by any of those guys or any of the Okie State holdovers from the prior regime.

I would imagine he has a degree.

As someone who has watched both Berge and White (MN native and MN flip) a lot over the past couple years, the result yesterday was about as predictable as a sunrise.

lol so if they all don't become David Taylor bonus point machines, then this whole thing has been a bust?

Is this a post questioning the ability of DT and co.'s coaching ability? 🤔 You mention Merrill who made the finals as a freshmen last year.. And for Oklahoma State holdovers.. Doucet went from DNP to 4th, and Spratley went from DNP to 2nd and 5th at a very volatile weight.

I mean isn't that what everyone was saying?? All these guys with a chance to work & wrestle with DT on a daily basis were going to jump levels in their wrestling?? Wouldn't you expect that to happen?

No jump from Merrill, Facundo, Ski, Lockett, Jameson, Berge, Norman, Ramirez, Ryder, Sheets.

That’s how you beat Penn State at their own game so yea…basically…

This is a ridiculous statement. There is a reason that 5 if not 6 of those guys will be backups this year. My god, the first guy you named is coming off of a freshman campaign where he placed 2nd. What are you even talking about? 😂

It's classic to put Merrill in with those guys.

Because they haven't developed...

Does he not get to wrestle with DT? I'm confused...he was marginally better than Little last year and he hasn't widened the gap. If fact, you could say Little is slightly better now. Merrill's no better on the mat, in fact Little had more riding time.
