So AJ is like 230lbs? And that is bulked with buffets.

I was surprised by the 222 lb claim as well (if true). Are weigh in weights available anywhere?  I know B10 ones used to be available in the past at least.    But if true, he either didn’t gain very much weight or he wasn’t cutting much to get to 197 last year.

I said I actually see what AJ is talking about. It just is great popcorn material. Really is. I have seen their 1st match at 197 years ago. I remember AJ handling him. They are same height around 6ft. Trumble is 6 3" so it makes more sense he can reach 250lbs. AJ only able to add 25lbs and Yonger is able to add 50lbs at same height. Not crazy or over the top. Cassar got to 250lbs right? But the backne and acne is kinda legit from what I know. Then there is the fake testing people are crying about. Is that really true? Interesting points. If that is true it would favor the elite teams who are able to afford high dollar clean gear. But why wouldn't AJ jump on it if that were the case?

Cassar won NCAAs at sub-230.

I'm shocked at the pushback AJ is receiving.  This Forum accuses everyone of being on steroids.  AJ is fighting the good fight for you guys

agreed. also, Ohio State is extremely juiced and their crash and burn is due to weening off the juice for testing purposes.

I wouldn't trust AJ to date my sister or represent my program but I admit from a distance I find him  entertaining. The hair, the fake humility, the strut, the splits,  the fortune cookie religious references; its all good stuff.

When you defeat me, I will accuse you of using steroids, and forget about the whole prayer thing (which, as it turns out, was being used as a tool for self-aggrandizing)"

IIRC, in the same interview where he accused Yonger of being on HGH (while saying he’s not making accusations), he said something like “I love Jesus in the wins and also in the losses”

On day one of the 2019 NCAA tournament Cassar weighed in at 228.2 pounds.

I'm not going to make excuses.. BUT

My knee was buckling, and I wasn't even going to wrestle that match..

He was on steroids..

It takes a man to go out there and wrestle when the odds are against you (or coaches/your dad telling you to)

at 4:50.  Does he really not know how to pronounce his teammates name?

I want to assume it's a nickname (possibly a play on Chance the Rapper / Kendrick Lamar) but you really don't know with this guy.

I watched him nearly rupture discs in his back and tear a hammy deadlifting 650 with the ugliest form imaginable; this guy is Jersey Shore of wrestling

I think AJs issue is that his stress reliever is lifting or being in the weight room, and when he was at 197 he couldn't be lift as often otherwise he had a hard time staying at 197. I honestly think he likes lifting more than wrestling. And am pretty sure that's why he went up to 285. According to him. At 197 he struggles because his weight cut is pretty much all muscle loss

Full of un-bias blasphemy.

You have to take him seriously; he does and says it all in accordance with the Man Upstairs' plan for him. Like half the elite athletes out there, apparently.

After watching Penn State’s infomercial praising Jesus, AJ  thought if I just pretend to be the same I won’t lose like they don’t so I’ll do the most cringe thing I can think of and pray with a kid I just beat at nationals. Then after Bastida he was like shit that didn’t work, back to old AJ…

Here’s an interview from Yonger from 2022 after NCAA’s at 197.   Seems like he had acne then too

But the backne???? 🙂 Listen I dont know if all the top teams/guys are on gear or not but the rumors have been circulating for awhile and the NCAA tests appear to be a farse. Could this be some of the huge separation between top teams and the rest of field? Yonger looks the same to me by the way. Let me see his back 🙂

Didn't we hear the same crap from Shapiro last year?  This is Bastida's third year at 285.  He has had more time to grow into the weight.  If AJ goes 285 next year, he will be heavier than this year.   If he is at 225-230, he could drop to 197, but it won't be easy.  He would have lose some muscle mass because he doesn't have much fat in that 225-230.

I never listen to what he says.   Too annoying.

In one of his interviews he said he ate like 14 steaks a day or something.  Cut that back to 1 a day and he’ll be back at 197 in no time

Trumble had a miserable time making 197 and it was obvious with his nationals results.

Along with adding muscle, Yonger’s bodyfat went from like 15 percent to 30.  Not so hard to comprehend.  AJ is a moron.  Nebraska just needs to roll with Ziola.

So Cassar was only 5 lbs heavier than AJ. I remember Cassar eating horses and was only able to put on 30lbs around same as AJ. Yonger put on 50! Trumble i can see. His additional 3 inches in height make a big difference!

This I agree with! He is bigger than AJ. Send AJ back to 197.

This is Bastida’s 3rd season at heavyweight though.   There was a guy at UNI that started out as a 174 and finished as a heavyweight.

Cassar put on about 12lbs.
