I was replying narrowly to your statement that calling more stalling would change how guys wrestle.  I don't think it would.  I think lesser guys will always try to stall, no matter the officiating.

Of course they will, but here is my issue right now:

The current system favors the staller.

If you stall, you are harder to score on which favors the lesser wrestler

If you stall, you are often able to get to OT where 1 good shot, or 1 mistake from your opponent can decide the match which improves the odds for the lesser wrestler

UTB often does not show who the better wrestler is, which favors the lesser wrestler.

So, by allowing a wrestler to stall and make it to OT/UTB you are dramatically increasing the odds for a lesser wrestler to win a match against a superior opponent.

If we call stalling more often, the stalling strategy becomes a less viable option to pulling an upset which is what (I think?) we all want. I don't think McGowan deserved to go to SV and have an opportunity to win the match after not even showing any interest in wrestling for 7 minutes.

I don't think the current system favors the staller.  All of the worst stallers tonight got beat.

They actually called stalling tonight and decided two matches in regulation resulting in the better guy winning. If they would have swallowed their whistles and "let the wrestlers decide it" we could have had two OT matches, and there is a chance the stalling would have worked. But we have all off-season to debate stalling. Let's just enjoy the afterglow of a great NCAAs.

Interesting.

Maybe not the best idea of his. Let's see how that works out for him.

Oh damn lol. Flo guys said AJ and Angelo approached them for an interview and threw out some wild allegations. This makes sense now.

That is indeed a cool moment... even after defeat, Yonger did a cool thing.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

This is a wild stat

7 matches

2-1 stalling on Luffman

4-1 with a TD

4-0 loss to Trumble

Pin while winning 1-0

1-0 over Carrol with Carrol picking neutral

injury default over Ferrari

5-1 match over Ghadali

He clearly wins with top wrestling.  Didn't go to OT the whole tournament.
