  2. Just what we need...another poster with completely outrageous and ignorant posts. I thought at first he may be okay and I could learn from someone who thinks and lived a different life, but he is reaching, and may have gone past, RV level craziness.
  3. Meaning of cover in English cover verb uk /ˈkʌv.ər/ us /ˈkʌv.ɚ/ cover verb (BE/GIVE ENOUGH) C1 [ T ] to be or give enough money to pay for something: cover the cost The selling price barely covered the cost of the raw materials. cover expenses For some writers, having to cover expenses like meals and travel makes it unaffordable to speak at book festivals. Their small budget had to cover everything from staff costs to buying furniture. He charged them rent in order to cover his mortgage payments. Her godmother offered to cover her tuition fees. Now unless I'm mistaken, I don't see the part of the definition of the word where it says "to cover means to pay for part of.." unless you think your definition of the word is better than the Cambridge dictionary https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/cover?q=cover+

  6. Here’s the thing, in most sports that I can think of, when a new technique is developed, they don’t create a completely new event. Back in the early days of track & field, shot putters pretty much just stood in the circle and put it into the throwing sector. Then they developed the Hop Step which is pretty much as it sounds. In the early 1950s, Parry O’Brien developed the Glide technique. In the early 1970s, the Soviets popularized the Spin technique. While there are still some Gliders on the international circuit, most of the top throwers use the Spin. You can use whatever technique you choose as long as it complies with the rules, but there is only one shot put event. Same thing with the high jump. Techniques have changed dramatically, but there is still only one high jump event. In swimming, the front crawl/freestyle and even the breaststroke have a long history. The butterfly developed out of modifying the breaststroke as it was a faster technique For some reason they eventually decided to create a new event out of it. The backstroke, much like race walking, is a fine fitness endeavor, but should not be a competitive racing event. If logic were to prevail, competitive swimming would at least cut down to freestyle and butterfly. I am also open to discussing the need for both the long jump and triple jump

  15. If Askren never redshirted he’d be 1-11 against Pendleton in college and only a one time champ/Hodge winner. Kevin would still believe that Askren jumped levels after Pendleton graduated and that 2006 Askren would beat peak Pendleton. In the timeline that actually happened Pendleton was 7-1 against Askren in folkstyke and 2-0 in freestyle. Kevin thinks Askren jumped levels after Pendleton graduated and either the jump didn’t work for freestyle or he jumped back by the time they wrestled in freestyle a second time. There is a window in time from late June 2005 to early October 2009 when Askren totally would handled Pendleton... Unfortunately they didn’t wrestle during this period.

  22. I agree. It should follow a golf or tennis kind of model. That's kind of how it is anyway, with the way UWW has rankings and things. There should be an established tour though, and just have it culminate at Worlds every year.
  23. Day 2 prelims wrapping up. Not a great start. First time in my lifetime that no American man made it to the semifinals in the 100 back, a stroke that the US has dominated for many, many years
