GWN, thank you for providing examples that show while perfect is ideal, done is often better in practice. -

Huge loss for Campbell and wrestlers. With the uncertainty of the program it will be a hard sell for coach coming in. - Today

Lung transplants are super tough. They have the worst 10 year survival rates out of all solid organ transplants.

What’s the Best Piece of Advice You’ve Ever Received?
GreatWhiteNorth replied to jross's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Why do you continue to post like such a dumb a**? You think posters here don't speak some french or can't translate via Google and see you are a FRAUD? Le mieux est l'ennemi du bien = The best is the enemy of the good Le mieux est le mortel ennemi du bien = The best is the mortal enemy of the good Striving to better, oft we mar what's well = Trying to do better, we sometimes break what is good To go too far is as bad as to fall short = Find the balance between too far and not far enough The (4) bulleted items you listed are, in no way equivalent to your far-too-basic BS phrase "done is better than perfect." Every one of the items in the bulleted list are either something different, or something more. You're reaching and failing badly. "Done is better than perfect" is wrong every single time. (Whatever happened to you stating it once and letting it stand? You changed your rule because your statement is dumb? Sounds right.) The phrase I've used is basically the same as the first two on the bulleted list - "Perfect is the enemy of done." (Not my words, I heard them on one of my favorite podcasts.) If you're trying to get your trash can to the sidewalk on trash day - Done will suffice. Perfection isn't needed. Maybe best to get the cart out and not worry about a straight line or how fast you do it or if a bit spills out. You can fix that in the morning. How about a kid using crayons in a coloring book? Done is just fine. Perfect isn't needed. It'll go on the fridge and look just fine. Let's talk about mowing the lawn. Never cut more than 1/2 the height of the current grass. Always overlap every pass to not leave any grass uncut. Mulch when is appropriate, bag when is appropriate. Change mower engine oil and air filter and sharpen blade every season. Scrape underside of mower between each and every use. Mow only in the evening to allow the grass to recover before summer heat... (and there's far, far more.) ...Or maybe just do the best you can as time allows and call it good. Doesn't need to be Perfect. In all these examples above, why would you insist on perfection when 'good enough' is just fine. Finish it and call it done. Indeed, Perfect is the enemy of done. Sometimes it is advisable to settle for less than perfect. But is it true that "Done is better than perfect?" No - not at all. Never. You are 100% wrong. It is a universal truth that Perfect is the best we can do. Done is never better than perfect. That obviously doesn't mean there isn't room for both. -
I'm saying that you're too lazy to click the links on your own posts. (I chose 'lazy' because it is nicer than 'stupid.') Save your "king" speech for someone else. I don't care one wit about it. (And, from reading your post here - you need some time to improve it. It's crazy dumb as it stands. Do much better.)

Penn State, Ohio State - sex abuse problems

In many schools there is a lot of stigma around being the dumb kids who are only there because they got in the easy way, and the athlete's only lifeline to legitimacy on campus is through their sporting endeavors. "In exchange for being a good part of our team, we give you this education in exchange" sort of a thing. Obviously it's not universal, but it is very common. -

That's just insane. He's...EASILY the greatest actor of this generation. I don't know why his style of preparing for a role would detract from it, but remember when he tapped his plastic eye with that sharp knife? That was a thin layer and he had to train himself to keep his eye open. That's just ONE of dozens of anecdotes that sticks out that adds so much to role. The dude's weird, he's EASILY the greatest actor in history IMO. At LEAST the last 30 years. Has he been in a bad role? I don't think you can find a list without DDL near the top if not at the top of greatest actors EVER. Tom Cruise was great... before he just basically took the same role in every movie the last 30 years(A Few Good Men was great for example...though even there, that was just the non-action lawyer role which he then meshed with the firm and then went to over the top action movies...which is fine, but I can't get past the scientology stuff). Anyway, he's not in the same group as Daniel Day Lewis. More people have seen Tom Cruise movies, they've been ore successful, though if that's the metric, the sister in the Godfather, Adriana in Rocky would be one of the "top" Female actors of all-time and Harrison Ford would be the "best" Male star of all-time.

White Conservatives are the biggest threat

Please tell me this is coherent to someone else? "well, there definitely is a troll on this forum who SAID he voted for trump..." Anyone understand how this...apparent Trump voter who is actually a leftist( sort of like your claim the Minnesota shooter was actually a liberal with a Democrat contact list is) has to do with a US Senator who mocked the deaths and joked about it? Really... someone help me understand this one (not you Scout, I'm sure you'll change the topic into some whataboutism). You don't actually understand what "word games" are, do ya sport? -

Yes, those 14 cases in ENTIRELY different scenarios since 1988... in somehow in some of your feeble minds means...hell, the Cop could have "changed lanes," which would require backing over him. LOL... just need to keep pointing out the hypocrisy. -

THIS is the more ignorant part of this post. Most of my Family is in Law Enforcement. On the two sides, 6 Uncles, among Cousins in the various agencies and including MPs, it's ~12(I don't know if one is retired yet). But yeah, thinking someone driving an UNMARKED can pull a gun because someone LEGALLY takes a picture of their license plate...can ONLY mean I hate Cops. Again, how the bootlicking on the right have gotten insane. The constitution and you're rights... only works if it suits your argument, eh? LOL... again, not surprised by the hypocrisy. -

Great. You went back to 1988 to conjure up vastly different circumstances to try and overstate the threat a Cop faces and SOMEHOW justify pulling a gun on a NON-TRAFFIC stop and perfectly legal, constitutionally protected action. These are just SOME of the jobs most several TIMES more dangerous than being a Cop. -

Some speculation is fair play. People that are intubated, on ECMO and being evaluated for a lung transplant are very sick. Outcomes for these patients is often dismal. Lets not sugarcoat what is actually pretty bleak.
