Brooks story: True or False?
Window12 replied to Interviewed_at_Weehawken's topic in International Wrestling
I think he is agreeing with you - saying it’s an ad ‘hominem fallacy’ in logic textbooks ,but a ‘circumantial attack’ - ie attack against who is saying something rather than what is being said -

If he had just said “Jesus is the one true prophet,” I don’t think he would have gotten much backlash. It was adding in the “no false prophets, no Muhammad no anyone else” line that crossed the line IMO. -

This is not ad hominem? I give up. I can't compete with your superior intellect. -

The statement is an ad hominem fallacy—specifically a “circumstantial” attack—because it dismisses concerns by targeting who is expressing them (white American atheists with “coexist” bumper stickers), not what is being argued. According to logic standards, that’s a textbook example of ad hominem -

Whilst I am not religious and actually don’t wish to defend any sort of faith it’s worth mentioning that Muslims do revere Jesus as a prophet and consider him the Messiah coming back in the day of judgement. You won’t find religious Muslim disparaging Jesus. There is a good summary from ChatGPT In Islam, Jesus (known as *'Isa* in Arabic) is highly revered as one of the greatest prophets, but not considered divine. Here's a summary of the general Muslim beliefs about Jesus: *Core Beliefs:* 1. *Prophet, Not God*: Muslims believe Jesus was a *mighty prophet and messenger of God*, not the son of God or divine. 2. ****I have a limited vocabulary*** Birth*: Like Christianity, Islam teaches that Jesus was born miraculously to *Mary (Maryam)*, a ***I have a limited vocabulary***, by the will of God. 3. *No Crucifixion*: The *majority Muslim belief* is that *Jesus was not crucified*. Instead, it appeared so to people, and *God raised him to heaven*. This is based on the Qur'an (Surah An-Nisa 4:157-158). 4. *Miracles*: Jesus performed many *miracles* by God’s permission, such as healing the blind and lepers and bringing the dead to life. 5. *Not the Son of God*: Islam strictly emphasizes *monotheism (Tawhid)* and rejects the idea of the Trinity or divine sonship. 6. *Second Coming*: Muslims believe that Jesus will *return before the Day of Judgment* to restore justice and defeat the false messiah (al-Dajjal). 7. *Scripture*: Jesus was given a divine book called the *Injil* (Gospel), which Muslims believe has been altered over time. *Respect and Titles*: Jesus is referred to as *'Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus, son of Mary)*, *al-Masih (the Messiah)*, *Ruh Allah (Spirit from God)*, and *Kalimatullah (Word of God)* — all emphasizing his honor without implying divinity. Let me know if you’d like Qur’anic references or how these beliefs compare with Christian views. - Today

Dude just got teched in 45 seconds in European U20 semis...2-on-1 drag by then laced. Didn't really get the chance to see what he had (first time seeing him). He did kinda look like the wrestling version of Kramer tho.

That seems like a stretch. Taking the pressure off and remembering this id just a game, a game you love, seems on the up and up to me. The nearly undeniable pattern at this point is making poor decisions and hiding behind, sin, god and salvation. Which is what a lot of religious sheisters do. Its always come off as overly fake and put on. And i suspect it always has been. They could really beleive it though, which is equally gross. Because they will tell you not judge sin based on the person, situation, or sin (kyle snyder) and turn around and be very judgmental themselves. Its human nature. The *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me*ty side. We all have some of it. Its just extra greasy when you pretend youre above it all.

it's not ad hominen ffs. there's plenty of substance in there. you poptarts aren't thinking this through and want to be outraged. Brooks stated what the Christian beliefs are. Muslims state what Islamic beliefs are. if it's an atrocity, what do you say for yourselves when you scoff at the existence of any higher power? are you telling all muslims and christians they're full of sh!t? wow. what an affront! Muslims: "Muhammed is the true prophet!" Wokesters: "well, that's their belief" Christians: "Jesus is the one true prophet!" Wokesters: "that is an affront to muslims!" Wokesters: "All religion is contrived. simply hogwash" you haven't thought this all the way through, brainiacs. i can't believe you just offended believers of all faiths. how dare you. -
It's possible. The Kola Borehole in Russia was more than 7 miles deep.

Happy Independence Day, the original No Kings Day. I’d like to contribute this paragraph taken from a speech by Calvin Coolidge given July 4, 1926, the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration: “About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful. It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning can not be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.“
