  2. Google is fun Must officers identify themselves by name on scene? No federal requirement compels officers to give their name and badge number when asked Some states or departments require uniforms with visible nameplates or badges and might have local rules for identifying themselves For regular on‑scene arrests, unless local policy mandates it, officers are not legally obligated to verbally provide their name and badge on the spot
  3. He’s just sloppily following the playbook that was given to him. Any true element of the situation like the cuffs goes into the political montage.
  4. It's just awful. Even in the best case scenario (i.e. lung transplant successful) his life will be completely turned upside down forever.
  5. Interesting take. I do see a large handful of ai fake azz vids that are politically motivated quite a bit. That’s true.
  6. YES JESUS CHRIST There's a reason why most departments in this country have that as their policy (and it's actually the law in many places). It's good policy that builds trust with the public.
  7. 1) Is that even true? Or are illegal immigrants simply returning to prior practices of evading entry points because the legal process of asylum seeking is not being respected, so there's no point in even trying to enter through a legal port? Also possible it's a straight up lie given this administration's willingness to play fast and loose with facts. 2) I would rather have tons of illegal immigrants enter than a masked goon squad roaming the streets arresting suspected illegal immigrants, and sometimes legal ones too, causing huge community disturbances in the process. They don't commit crimes at high rates, they play an important role in the economy, and most of all, deserve their shot at a better life wherever they deem that to be. Come in, pay your taxes, be a good citizen, and you're A-okay in my book. If you break the law, off you go. Simple as that in my opinion.
  8. Let me fix your statement, "History has taught us that Israel does all the dirty work for the US, Europe, and the cowardice leaders in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, and Egypt. When Israel tells us they are going to attack Iran we merely ask them to accept the fact that we are going to sh*t on them in public while in private we thank them. As the legendary Christopher Hitchens referred to them,The Death Cult, has to appear united in their quest to stone all gays and socially imprison women. It is also important that I, RedViking, my friends @uncle bernard & @Tripnsweep espouse stupidity on the matter with claims that oppressive nut job fanatical fundamentalist are the victims." Signed - RedViking
  9. By whom. Random strangers ? Do the police need to identify themselves to random strangers?
  10. So, punctured lung, staph, pneumonia, sepsis, ventilator, ECMO, lung transplant. This really sucks.
  11. They are being asked and are refusing to identify themselves. That's all over the news and a major reason why these protests kicked off.
  12. not debunked actually
  13. You can't say I'm most likely 0-6, then say it's a "Constitutional question that should be dealt with." And even then, they've disobeyed direct orders. That's incontrovertible. If they disagree with the orders, they can go through the proper legal process to dispute that. They aren't allowed to just ignore them and proceed. That's a radical departure from civil norms that directly challenges the constitution.
  14. I believe it is the growth of ‘media’ and internet that has increased and intensified the lies. Before that the main way constituents knew what you were up to was by the record of your vote. Now far less people pay attention to that because they have their reps on the web and social media telling them what to think every day and what they should be mad at. That’s how you get votes these days, much more so than by the actual work you do.
  15. It's a dire situation. When a patient is on both (ECMO and ventilator), it means their lungs are so severely damaged that even with maximum support from the ventilator, they cannot adequately do much
  16. Vent=ventllator. It's a device that moves air into the lungs. Used when the lungs are unable to take in enough air on their own. ECMO=extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. It's an external device. Blood is pumped from the paitient into the ECMO machine which ooxygenates its and then pumps it back into the patient. It's like a set of external artificial lungs/heart. Could also be used if the heart is too weak to move the blood on its own.
  17. It means those machines are breathing for him. They're keeping him sedated and breathing for him because he isn't capable of doing it on his own. Because of this he's extremely weak and may not be capable of handing a surgery the magnitude of a double lung transplant. He would need to respond to the antibiotics and get a little better before they could. And he isn't responding to the antibiotics. He's in a bad spot.
  18. History has taught us that we won't just "walk away." When Israel tells us to bend over, we merely ask them "how far?"
  19. can you explain what that means please?
  20. I’m in my 40s, married for over 20 years, and a proud dad to multiple kids involved with gymnastics, soccer, wrestling, baseball, and softball. I was a successful high school wrestler and baseball player in my home state. I wanted to become a chiropractor (~90 premed credits), but my father’s tragic motorcycle accident when I was 20 forced me to pause and pivot to software engineering. I have been a project manager, people manager, and engineer at a large, diverse company in a major metro. I’ve directly managed 25 local employees and overseen 50 in another country, while also organizing and volunteering in my community. After company buys and multiple reorganizations, I'm an individual contributor again. Raised Christian, I moved through agnosticism to now theism. I believe important characteristic are personal accountability, discipline, diligence, gratefulness, and healthy pride. I love to help people that want to help themselves... am get frustrated with those that do not. I’m a relentless worker, avid reader, and DIY enthusiast, tackling everything from home projects, mechanics, to coaching competitive baseball, where I’ve guided my team from rec to AAA, mentoring most of the kids since t-ball. I’ve coached youth and high school wrestling. I took a break from coaching early in my marriage and picked it up again when my son started. It was about this time that I joined this forum. My son stopped at 8 and I thought I was done. However my eldest daughter switched from gymnastics to wrestling as a sophomore, just graduated, and it was a blast to watch. I stay active in men’s baseball leagues and American ninja training... though I'm sorting out a solution to multiple rotator tuff tears. I’ve traveled across most of the U.S. and visited countries in the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Australia. I grew up rural, live in a blue suburb now, and work in a progressive city environment. I keep things practical... buying used cars and prioritizing family needs. I try and fail to be stoic and nonchalant. I've very data driven... Now, I’m focused to reach early retirement, eager to make up for time I missed with my kids while working... time my stay-at-home wife had more of... by spending quality moments with my future grandkids... I’m a constitutionalist libertarian who values merit, individualism, small government, capitalism, and a national identity rooted in personal freedom. I believe in laissez-faire principles, letting people chart their own paths with minimal interference. I strongly oppose DEI initiatives in practice, as they often undermine merit and fairness. However, I support free education, housing, and food through college for those who earn it through hard work and academic commitment, alongside a government focused primarily on providing security. I am independent and vote for Democrat and Republican. I do not like Trump but he is a good president. I did not vote for him in 2016 but observed and voted for him in both 2020 and 2024. I follow both on Twitter and have friendly acquaintances of both parties, including politicians. I try to pop people's bubbles with the media lies in this forum...
  21. Iran is vastly different from other Islamic Middle Eastern countries being that it has the strongest and most educated secular group that is itching to rid itself from fundamentalist. If the CIA and Mossad can engineer a revolution than we should be all for it. In the meantime send the B-52's, drop the bunker busters, call it a day, and walk away. I know this is hard for many of you anti Israeli death cult supporters but there are a lot of people in the Middle East that don't want to live under fundamentalist extremism
  22. Wait. Some joker not being detained was the one that asked for the warrant?
  23. Better yet, lets send the leftists to palestine and Iran and help them defend themselves. Hopefully they don't open their mouths about equal rights, and gay /trans rights. Then they will find out why they don't want to be there. mspart
  24. Hmmmm.... agreed. D3
  25. If true, this actually makes sense to me- I see it as a net benefit for both guys.
  26. Today
  27. Already debunked mostly. mspart
