  2. You don't have to be charged with a crime to have your student visa withdrawn. Does being a student make one a "legal resident" whatever that is? Try again.
  3. Got some dust in my eye just as I was reading this
  4. not reading the room
  5. 3 years into his MMA career, Chandler won a belt. 3 years into his MMA career, Gaethje won a belt and successfully defended it. 3 years into his MMA career, Nickal lost to the only ranked fighter he's faced.
  6. I hate the matches where one guy gets 12 seconds and the other guy gets 15 seconds. I would change the rideout OT so that you can only win if you get the full 30 second rideout and your opponent does not. If neither does (and no other points are scored), continue to the next SV.
  7. Channeling my inner RV: "Maybe Garcia was a trafficker but no one has proven those were humans. Prove it. Did you take DNA and do you have it in jars in your refrigerator? ANSWER MY QUESTION! Strawmen are tanking."
  8. Hope both men have successful surgeries. Prayers up. The Latona's have been a part of VT wrestling for nearly a decade. Everyone knows Sam, but his older brother Dom started wrestling at VT in 2016. The Brothers have always been hard working, humble and selfless. Sam sacrificed a couple years with a severe cut to help VT get the best lineup on the mat. Nice to see the family receive a wonderful gift from Coach Robie. VT Wrestling Tweet

We've given you a visa and you decide to do that — we're going to take it away," Rubio said in a recent news conference. None of these students has been charged with a crime. Instead, the government is using a rarely invoked immigration act that allows the secretary of state to revoke immigration status if the secretary deems their presence a threat to U.S. foreign policy.
  18. Wouldn't be my choice of words, but I bet Bo has used it at least once!
  19. I'm guessing they don't want some "bowling" style celebration, so they are covering all bases? Flagrant misconduct would generally be a punch, a brutal headbutt, a bite, etc. Not a thrown headgear. I would imagine a situation came up last year where a ref thought a kid did something flagrant and it was a mistake. I'll give an example: When a shrug first started becoming big in the 90s, I taught my team the technique. My state champ 171 attempted one in a match. The ref had not been evolving with the sport and thought my guy had thrown a forearm shiver. He was penalized, thankfully not a flagrant. It only takes one or two situations like this for a rule to be put into place.
  20. He's not an edgelord though. he's more like someone with main character syndrome whose plot just collapsed.
  21. Start by reading the very first post in this thread.
  22. As a ref, I'm already seeing the ways this can be gamed. I'd love to let Bouzakis up to avoid the reversal and not even have to give up an escape point.
  23. Don't tell Bo that! He thinks he is full of 'rizz. Honestly, I was not a fan of his in college. I liked his style but couldn't stand his blue hair or most of his interviews. Guy was good though. I have been rooting for him in MMA, though. Honestly, I have been rooting for him in the way that Mineo thinks we should all be rooting for him. He's a wrestler; I support wrestlers. At the same time, I am fine with Iowa (or other) fans who wanted him to be humbled. It is their right, and the guy has been cringe. But what I saw against Paul Craig, and even worse against RDR, has left me very disappointed in him.
  24. I actually do. A controlling ride looking to break the bottom wrestler down. The tactic of as soon as the bottom wrestler gets to their feet, you run them to the edge and "attempt" a return going out of bounds.. or dropping to a leg as soon as the bottom wrestler is about to escape.. should be called stalling more frequently, but the refs don't want to "decide" the match so the tactic is allowed. But I agree. Ride outs is about the worst way to decide a winner of a wrestling match that I could imagine. Getting a match to ride outs is the best way for an inferior wrestler to pull off an upset (Seymour over Lilledahl). Anything can happen in those 30 seconds, and choice is huge. It's not nearly as bad, but it's kind of like the old ball grab era in freestyle.
  25. I feel like there's an opportunity in pro wrestling for a mouthy edgelord heel. He'd do well in that character
