  1. Past hour
  2. I wonder what the weight classes will be with 8 weights for men and 4 for women. Zahid and Kennedy Blades are in (also Askren) but the event is scheduled less than 2 weeks before Worlds and a week before U20s, so the timing may be a little weird for a big debut
  3. Which will make it even harder on the walk-on types because now instead of having 40 guys (with 9.9 scholarships), we'll likely have 30 guys (with still probably 9.9ish scholarships). So fewer spots to go around.
  4. The people voted Hamas in as their representative government. one of the things they ran on was armed anti Israel resistance. This appealed to much of the populace.
  5. Yeah, the schools may be allowed to have 30 full ride scholies, but that doesn't mean that they will have the funding to do so. In fact, few if any will.
  6. Now schools are still going to have donors that want their money to go to wrestling. I'd be curious if they are better off giving to the school or giving to a NIL trust. I have a feeling college wrestling is going to look very different in 2-3 years.
  7. Yeah, I've heard that there's questions around whether market value will be determined by city/region, conference, age, or any number of factors; or maybe it'll be some sort of cumbersome weighted algorithm. I believe the intent of the clearinghouse though is to provide a centralized repository where anonymized data can be aggregated and eventually give revenue athletes and coaches a better idea of their worth. For big sports it's about bringing players back down to earth on their actual value (e.g., the basketball player who told Kelvin Sampson it'll cost him at least $2.5M to play for him), and it's making sure that non-revenue athletes get paid what they're worth. Since now we have PE, VC, hedge funds, and other institutional money getting involved I wonder if could one day create offerings with financial instruments or some other illiquid asset that circumvents the $600 limit.
  8. according to trimpand sweep this means she guilty
  9. If I heard Schumer correctly he said they are going after Trump. Nothing about representing the people of their states or districts who elected them.
  10. Billy meiszner from Kent State to UT Chatt
  11. lol so tell me, what is the border patrols job
  12. i think we should all say clink the link from now on
  13. I cited the reputable sources cited in Wikipedia. Actually, it is. Israel empowered Hamas to undercut the legitimacy of the Palestinian peace process led by the PLO. This is what has allowed them to expand illegal settlements and continue to kill massive numbers of civilians. This board is a perfect representation of this concept. When anybody thinks about Palestine, they think 'Hamas.' If you say anything in defense of Palestinians, they call you a terrorist supporter and Hamas lover. This entire thread is dedicated to that very thing! I haven't said a single positive thing about Hamas on here, yet people call me a terrorist. That is the usefulness of Hamas for Israel. Hamas delegitimizes Palestinian struggle in the West because many people in the West are too stupid to distinguish between Hamas and Palestine or know the history of the Palestinian struggle. If Israel were to wipe out Hamas tomorrow, they would need to invent a new Hamas. Next, it will be the PA, then if they take all of Palestine, they will use Hezbollah as a reason to start annexing Lebanon.
  14. I appreciate this. Apologies to @No BS Fan. I misinterpreted the wording of the new format.
  15. Wrestling will still be an equivalency sport, and under the proposed rule programs can offer anywhere between zero and a full scholarship to athletes who make the roster cap. So, a school could hypothetically distribute zero scholarships across the board, or 30 full scholarships to the wrestling team, or anywhere in-between (like .20 scholarship to one guy, .90 to another, etc. like it is today). For some reason, a lot of folks assume that the roster cap system will be better than the 9.9 scholarship limit we have now because hypothetically everyone can get paid. But there's a huge difference between can and will. Take the $21M salary cap, allocate 75% to football, 20% to mbb & wbb, 3% to baseball, and then divide the remaining 2% (around $420K) across all the remaining sports in a program's portfolio. Say the AD divides it unequally among those sports and wrestling gets a generous 10% of that amount. That's still only $42K of scholarship money to distribute. It seems far more likely that the wrestling team will get less than the value of 9.9 scholarships under the new system. Of course, this doesn't include padding athlete compensation with NIL, but that's not what we're talking about here.
  16. Cool! What’s the prize?
  17. Have any fun vacations lined up this summer? How about you other guys?
  18. If I am wrong about this, someone please correct me. And if that's the case, I apologize in advance @No BS Fan for misunderstanding this whole thing.
  19. Today
  20. The Democrats will do everything humanly possible to prevent (obstruct) any of those things from happening. I wonder if they take some sort of oath when they get elected to office (I must obstruct at all costs so help me God). It sure seems that way.
  21. Some say 1032004 has Big D Energy. Some claim it's even been measured.
  22. She has been suspended from work by the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The WSC was elected by the people of Wisconsin to represent them and the state in judicial matters. Why is rv against the will of the people and their representatives?
  23. That's MY color. I'll let the Republicans have their stupid American flag as their new bigotry symbol but they're not taking the color red from me.
