  1. Past hour
  2. I agree. Loved watching him climb the ranks as a high school recruit and watching him win age level world medals and hope he can replicate that at the senior level if he can get past the Schultz/Coon obstacle. Just wish we could see him contend for a national title. I thought he would be ready to make a deep run in March until his announcement he was moving on.
  3. Wingers still having a tough time w this one I see.
  4. I do. I don't want to act like I understand what his training situation will be, but a huge reason for our successes our that our college kids go through the grind of a season. That mentality carries over to their training style. We gas so many people out because of it. That is a tool that we don't utilize at the highest level in MGR. The argument that there are D1 athletes doing it is rather moot. When I say D1, I mean the pinnacle. Look at the AA at 184lbs, for example last season. The Top 6 placers all wrestled some form of MFS this season. Either WTT, Pan Ams, Worlds (age level or otherwise) or some form of overseas worlds. 1st - Starocci, WTT 86 KG 2nd - Keckeisen, WTT 86 KG 3rd - McEnelly, U20s 86 KG 4th - Plott, WTT 92 KG 5th - Foca, Dominican Republic WTT 6th - Smith, Pan Ams 86 KG I am sure a lot of it is systemic. The same procedures aren't used for picking who goes where (Pan Ams, ranking series, etc). The MFS procedures are working to draw our best, most capable athletes from NCAA D1 Folkstyle. MGR needs to mimic that. It will take time to catch up. Probably a decade, or more... but it will be worth the try.
  5. I hope not cause that means he was extremely successful in Greco but as a Beavs fan I sure as heck wish he was gonna be toeing the line in Corvallis this year
  6. Do you think Aden Attao will regret moving over to greco full time? I'm asking this genuinely and not as some kind of sarcastic question.
  7. Check outside your window ?
  8. He didn't have to beat Reinoso and he knew it. That is part of the story. He knew that as long as he wasn't pinned, he would advance. Also the pools were random and could all be studs. JB never had to deal with the pool system. With a straight line bracket, he might not ever have to wrestle Reinoso. What was Smith's other pool loss? PS and the more I think of it, Reinoso had a pool loss before he wrestled Smith. In today's system, he wouldn't have made it Smith.
  9. A Black & Gold Container would look amazing but those would be some hot summers. Doubt JC can make the 40 man roster and they'd DFA but if he makes the cut and starts crushing it, brings his average up on the forum, will the Cael haters finally admit he can coach up non blue chip posters?
  10. You can’t measure or quantify statement a vs b and overlay your politics as to a private company deciding to fire an employee. I didn’t. And don’t care that Roseanne got fired. Or most of the others. …. my comment is more around that the left is cool when folks they don’t like get fired. And they jump up and down and yell about orange man when it’s someone they like. No more no less. The left is hypocritical about what they are outraged by. What do they say …. What’s good for me but not good for theeee.
  11. 74 and 84 would be my guess
  12. But on the other hand, he spent his college years traveling all over the world competing at the very highest level, and is forever an Olympian and veteran of the US Army.
  13. Why ? Their audience shrunk by 50% over the heads and the affiliates just dropped like some obscene number of households. So let’s say net he’s down 70% over the course of 6/7 years. ratings = $$. End of the game. So his program is making less $$$ and still costing them whatever that fixed cost is. Savings in business comes in two forms. Literal savings i.e. your right the remainder of his contract is small (time wise). But now it won’t be renewed for x years. The last one was $50 million. Let’s say he wanted a raise and a longer contract. He may have a hundred million sitting there every are now not going to pay him. They can play re runs of the man show for $100 lol. Or some other whatever. Or like the old days just go to green screen. thinking these corporate knuckle heads aren’t using politics to save a buck is what I feel is weird here. They exist to make $$ and grow their stock value. That’s it. let’s not forget. Disney’s stock is down about 50% over 5 years too. Do you mot think their board is pressuring them to fix that?
  14. so she got canceled for being a drunk comedienne?
  15. look up the word direct and you'll be good!
  16. Both Black and Sancho ended up being brought back in. As previously mentioned, Sancho would have to win 3 very tough matches tomorrow to medal. Black has a more winnable first match against Israel before he'd face the 1 seed from North Korea to earn a spot in the bronze match.
  17. Roseanne made a post on social media saying a black woman was the offspring of planet of the apes and the Muslim brotherhood.
  18. Can the PSU/NLWCers outright DFA JC?
  19. BTW what is the difference between Roseanne and Kimmel other than Roseanne knows what a woman is?
  20. On that note, ASU currently has 10 heavyweights.
  21. You insert our best athletes to focus on the sport, the potential ceiling is raised. How is that not what I was trying to get towards? How would you do it? How would you promote we get better? We have had at least two great prospects that decided to forgo college wrestling to focus on it the last ~ten years(Bey and Hancock). Bey continues to show raw flashes of pure awesomeness... but underperforms. When do we accept that he isn't underperforming, he is performing to his developed peak? Hancock? He decided the support and coaching wasn't there so he completely left the sport. He saw the writing on the wall. Those two focused on only MGR after high school and both would have likely had rather stellar careers if they had gone the D1 route. I don't see how their ceilings could, or would, have been any lower than they already have been (1 medal between the two of them).
  22. Today
  23. If it was going to happen, I think it already would have. If they do then we can talk, but until then they are all stretching the truth.
  24. Maybe should have happened $2 billion ago in damage.
  25. I understand that multiple means more than 1, but not necessarily all. Whether is slanted or not really depends on the feeling of all the executives at the meeting, which I don't think has been made public. The point I was making was more related to the fact that some portion of the executives in the meeting took it as a threat. I don't think you cutting losses theory makes much sense. It is not likely that ABC will save money directly by terminating his contract. His contract is up in 2026 so there isn't much to pay on it. Also they will likely have to pay this contract regardless. Litigation to prevent paying the contract will likely be time consuming and expensive. Executives in that meeting will likely have to answer questions about it and the fact that multiple executives didn't think he did anything wrong won't be a fact in ABC's favour. They will likely reach a settlement paying at or near the full contract value in part to avoid that discovery. Cancelling also creates immediate logistical issues. They have to fill that timeslot on short notice and whatever they throw in there would like bring in less revenue. Though Kimmel's ratings were down he was still #2 in the timeslot. To get a similar audience at that time they will have to spend some money. It is clear that the executives were either reacting to disapproval from the public or the Trump administration. The FCC chairs inappropriate comments at best only obfuscate that.
  26. Wow Kasak has really bulked up. Crazy how he started his college career at 141
