  1. If Amit Elor competes in this and Fanduel is taking action, I will bet my house on her to win like I should have done with Mijain Lopez.
  2. The protest against the statue removal was organized by people in the white nationalist movement, "Unite the right.". Who were the fine people on that side of the protest? Look up who actually organized the Charlottesville protest and you'll see that nobody involved was a fine person. The people there counterprotesting were doing so against actual nazis/white supreme. Charlottesville wasn't like January 6th where it was a bunch of Trump supporters where some were regular supporters and others were extremists. The people who were at Charlottesville are part of the neo nazi/KKK movement. Trump often wonders out loud why he doesn't get more Jewish supporters despite being a strong supporter of Israel, and I guarantee you that this is a huge reason. He said there were very fine people in a neo nazi rally and never backed down from it. That is not something that he can just sweep under the rug.
  3. What are you talking about? This simply isn't true. Cutting taxes and increasing spending both contribute to the debt. Do you actually care about the national debt or is your aim to just pay less in taxes?
  4. Is this an issue that anyone in this country cares about anymore? The last president that actually was able to limit the growth of the national debt was Clinton, who had to compromise with a Republican Congess. It actually was a pretty good recipe for economic success. Trump has now proposed to eliminate taxes on: Tips, social security, and overtime pay. He also has proposed free IVF for all Americans (average cost is $15,000 per cycle, and it usually takes 2-3 cycles). Combined, these are going to add billions to the debt. Obviously, Harris isn't proposing anything that would help the debt since that's not what democrats do. Does anybody give a shit about the national debt anymore or are we just going to have to keep printing money/devaluing the currency? Is there any chance that the Republicans will ever nominate a fiscal conservative again?
  5. CNN and MSNBC don't like Trump and haven't since 2015. Fox and Newsmax love him and hate Kamala and use just as bad rhetoric against her. What's your point?
  6. I'm not on tiktok and not going to make an account to watch your video. Could you just post what you are trying to say?
  7. It's the same thing he did with Charlottesville. He said there were "very fine people on both sides," when one side was composed entirely of Neo Nazis (the "unite the right" event was an alt right/neo nazi rally). In the next sentence, he says he isn't talking about the neo nazis (even though that is what that group was composed of). He has never acknowledged that statement as being wrong and to his own detriment continues to support almost anyone who supports him.
  8. ? This doesn't answer the question. Biden and Trump are both unsurprisingly bad at golf because they are both 80. I would expect that Biden usually plays on military bases like Obama though. I don't get why Trump isn't limiting events in open/outdoor locations just like Harris currently does. There are unfortunately too many crazy people out there with access to weapons.
  9. Trump lives in the area, plays golf on that course frequently, and travels in a giant motorcade. Trump plays golf almost every day. Why would this guy accuse law enforcement without any evidence at all? Shouldn't we be supported the people risking their lives to protect Trump?
  10. He clearly does not like Trump anymore, but he can't simply be described as a democrat. He has donated to Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang, Vivek, and Nikki Haley. It's quite the mix, which isn't surprising given that he is nuts. The first shooter wasn't a Democrat either, and more fit the mold of a school shooter that was looking for a convenient target to get attention. The real question is why is it so easy for criminals and crazy people in this country to get access to weapons?
  11. I think part of the problem was that we all knew what was going to happen. The entire movie built up to that ending.
  12. There are MANY nut jobs out there. Here are some of the incidents involving Obama, including shots fired near the white house. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_incidents_involving_Barack_Obama Then there was this plot in Michigan, which was a conspiracy to kidnap the Governor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gretchen_Whitmer_kidnapping_plot Then there was the shooting of congresswoman Gabby Giffords, which was successfully carried out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Tucson_shooting The problem is how easy it is for crazy people to get guns. The first shooter should never have had access to a firearm, and this shooter, who has a criminal record, should never have gotten access either. Thankfully, it appears this attempt was not very close to succeeding (the secret service found him before Trump had gotten close, and he got no shots off). So it sounds like the secret service did a great job here neutralizing the threat. Responsibility for securing the entire facility falls on the course itself, and it seems as if they did a poor job to allow him to be close by.
  13. Nobody took it easy on Robles. Not in high school, and definitely not in D1. The guy was absolutely built when he competed. I have no doubt he'd have been just as successful with two legs, possibly even better. If having one leg is such a huge advantage, we would see way more people missing legs able to compete in D1. Yes, there are fewer athletes competing with one leg, but I've seen a number of athletes compete missing legs, and none were to the level of Robles.
  14. This is incredibly ironic given that Mcdonough is holding a front headlock for half of his matches with Robles.
  15. On what timescale will Ukraine not win? Let's say the current conflict ends in a ceasefire. Ukraine and the international community will never accept Russia annexing huge parts of Ukraine. Ukrainians living within the occupied territory will carry out attacks on Russia within that territory and possibly in Russia itself, supported by Ukrainian intelligence agencies. It will be no different than the U.S. "winning" the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, only to eventually realize the futility of trying to occupy the territory. Putin is 71 now. Do we really think that 10-15 years from now, whoever replaces him will care about continuing to occupy Ukraine?
  16. What's up with the contradiction between the first post of this thread where you say, "We did not turn up the frequency of ad placement or anything," and now saying that every single page we click is going to have a new video pop up ad that automatically plays? It's your right to run however many ads as you'd like, but this is by far the most ads I've ever seen on a college wrestling forum. For me, the site is unusable on mobile (chrome or safari). What is wrong with sticking to banner ads? This is really the only national wrestling forum, so I'll stick around and post on desktop, but I'm worried this move will cause a number of people to leave and just not post here anymore.
  17. How soon we forget that half the Iowa lineup was suspended for gambling.
  18. The issue is not just the placement of the ads. The pop up videos are extremely laggy. I don’t think there will be many posters who stick around without an ad blocker if the ads are pop ups/auto play videos.
  19. Who cares about high school results? And it's basically cheating if you're 19 winning against 14-18 year olds.
  20. Holding a kid back for academic or behavioral issues can make sense in certain cases. Holding somebody back purely for athletics simply doesn't make any sense. If the point is to provide an advantage for athletics, it makes much more sense to either do a gap year after graduating or something like a PG year.
  21. Who better to coach Fix to beat Gilman than Gilman himself? Gilman knows Gilman better than anyone. If anything, Fix having Gilman as his coach is unfair for Gilman.
  22. I think he is purposefully being edgy to get attention on social media. Who knows what he actually believes, but the point of the video is clearly to draw attention to himself. I'm sure he'll release some other video soon enough with some other edgy claim. My take is that a student should never be held back for the purpose of athletics. It does make back to hold students back who can't keep up with the rest of the class, especially during earlier years. But I do think it is fair to recognize that stringent month cutoffs for class year don't really make sense. Some states base the cutoff point on the school year, others on the calendar year. I don't have a problem with kids who are born in July through December having the option to start the following calendar year (e.g. so that they turn 18 prior to or during their senior year). 19 year olds shouldn't be allowed to compete in high school sports though.
  23. I use both, and the site is unusable on both in its current state. On my phone currently though and am seeing the pop ups.
