And it's a shame that he had such a crappy nickname as well. Snyderman was at least clever, but even that was just another variation of some superhero. We need to back badass nicknames like the East Lansing Strangler and Green Toe Polacio!

This AI generated list just proves how boring and unoriginal it is to nickname Hendrickson Captain America. It is an incredibly unmemorable nickname. Now, the OK Corraler on the other hand is a kickass nickname. Or how about the The Stillwater Sheriff or The Flying Cowboy.

In a few years you can buy that car a beer. The price of cars going up probably won't have that huge of an impact on people since a car is something most people buy infrequently, and there is no real need to get a new car unless your old one is a piece of crap. However, the impact will be on car dealerships and domestic employees of the car companies that get laid off. I have to imagine the vast majority of these people are Trump supporters. In the long term, tariffs would bring jobs to the car manufacturing sector at the expense of higher prices and lower quality for consumers. I'm not sure how the employees who get laid off or can't sell cars while the supply chains are being redone will feel about it though.

It's not that simple. The SEC schools have been paying their players for years even though it was against NCAA rules. The university presidents there didn't care, because at this point they are the only professional sports teams for states like Alabama/Mississippi/Kentucky/South Carolina/Oklahoma. So now they legalized the whole thing and it has turned the rest of the country and every other sport into SEC football.

It's stupid to throw an accusation at an individual wrestler unless it is a Brock Lesnar type situation. Somebody we don't suspect at all could be on PEDs. Who thought Obe Blanc was doping before he was caught? Who thought Daton Fix was? The real question is whether there is actually any real drug testing for NCAA athletics? There is more incentive than ever to cheat with NIL. Don't teams test their athletes?

Messenbrink only had 3 matches total that weren't bonus point wins. 2 of those three were against #2 guy, who he had teched earlier in the year. Hendrickson had a great season too with many pins, but we have always seen heavyweights be more likely to win by pin, especially against weaker competitors. Like I said, I think it should be Starocci because of the 5 NCAA titles. I simply said MM had a more dominant season than Hendrickson, who also had an extremely impressive season.

This guy just had the biggest upset ever (or at least since Dan Gable). His name is Wyatt. He wrestles for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. And the best nickname that we as a sport can think of for him is rehashing Captain America, which was a pretty unoriginal nickname when it was used for Kyle Snyder. Can't we think of some "Wyatt" related cowboy nickname? If we want to make it something more patriotic, how about something creative involving airplanes or the Air Force? Or anything other than the same boring Marvel superhero? Anyone else miss the days of nicknames like the East Lansing Strangler, Funky, Kid Dynamite, King Cole, or The Great Pumpkin?

Yes, assuming he had eligibility and same age compared to the guy he met in the finals, although still older than you should be for the level.

Not even close to the same comparison. Bo Nickal probably would still not have made a world/olympic team if he stuck with wrestling-he didn't have much of an option to stay. Also, this is the equivalent of if he had another year of college eligibility and decided to compete in NCAAs, not internationally (but still it's not even the same comparison because Gable won at a level above NCAAs).

That's great that he chased what he wanted, but wrestling fans will probably root for the athletes who want to wrestle. I hope Gable decides to stick with wrestling, but I doubt it happens unless MMA doesn't work out.

Steveson made it clear that wrestling was a very low priority in his goals. WWE, then Football, then probably MMA..He wrestled this year because of NIL. Why wouldn't people root for Hendrickson over him?

Hodge should be Starocci. If you want to base it on bonus %, then it should be MM. But Starocci just did something nobody ever will again. These two guys led the single greatest NCAA team we have ever seen. No doubt Hendrickson deserved OW for NCAAs though. But that doesn't erase that the two PSU guys are more deserving of the award.
