  1. Ferrari can be the #1 seed at NCAAs if he wins CKLV and PAC12. Plus a few tough dual opponents. Maybe if someone comes out of the Big Ten undefeated, they would push him to #2, but we will see.
  2. I think we are evaluating only his career as a USA rep at 86kg. And I think that is a fair way to evaluate it. Burroughs was the P4P best in the world at the time he was keeping Taylor off the team, so maybe that logic implies that Burroughs is the best American of this era, which is my opinion.
  3. If he were to transfer, what school feels right for him?
  4. I would like Indianapolis a lot. It is the right size. You can walk to everything. Never Denver because altitude.
  5. This was the rendering of US Bank Stadium hosting the Final 4 in 2019: This was the reality: Rendering from 2020. I hope they do not leave as much space between mat and put some bleachers on the field to resemble what basketball did.
  6. Per Earl's article, "Sources close to the LIU program attribute this move to indifference from the administration towards the wrestling team."
  7. On my work computers using Chrome, I cannot read the Thread titles. It is not always like this, but it happens sometimes. Maybe avoid the option of adds on the left when looking at the Forum. There is always more space on the right and it is not always relevant to most website visitors.
  8. Jordan Burroughs = Lebron James - long term success John Smith = Michael Jordan - unbeatable streak
  9. I think this is the last year everything can work out at Penn State and AA level guys don't lose eligibility. This is assuming redshirts are used for Kasak, Davis/Nagao, Mirasola. If Facundo is not at 157, then there is one guy losing eligibility this year.
  10. @Interviewed_at_Weehawken That is interesting. Curious how they take that into account. The program is a black hole. All you ever hear about it how they are grateful to compete and how they have fun(which was almost a cliche a few years back), but that is it.
  11. Many are triggered by the concept that the biggest, best, most athletic play soccer in other countries. Just look at heavyweight in the US. Gable Steveson is the most athletic and best American heavyweight I have ever seen. There are countless more athletic guys in college football locker rooms without a shot at the NFL. Wrestling is a skill. Athleticism can matter, but I really don't think it's as important as many believe. To be good at anything, an internal desire is the most important thing. That's why I am spending my kids youth simply making sure they have fun doing sports, whether it's from goofing off and being silly, making a friend, getting a happy meal after practice, or praising them for doing something the right way. The whole point is to make them want to come back, and if they keep doing it for a while, they will get better. We can worry about what success looks like for them later.
  12. That trap arm series feels long gone. He does t get on top too much it seems. When he got silver, he was super offensive and teched in the semis. Even before that tournament, I had always felt he shut it down against top notch guys. It is very apparent in folkstyle, and was super apparent at NCAAs this last March. I should go back and watch his matches at final x when he made the team and compare his match tactics.
  13. I feel like it was in when I got home from school and I would watch it often. I remember watching it and thinking how good Mo Lawal was, but remember nothing else. And then being upset in 2008 when Hrovat beat him at OTT.
  14. Props to this neat thread. Interested to see the numbers.
  15. Iowa State staff made up of Hawkeyew. But who cares, right? If you want to coach, then your potential coaching career will have passed by if you wait to take over where you graduated.
  16. Shoulders take a while to get back to fighting shape. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't there in 2025.
  17. I agree. I wish that staff got their start somewhere else(not to mention the shit show at the end of spring semester). Wasn't there a factor of Pritzlaff's kid moving to New York(someone said that on here)? Maybe that implies that this is not a long term commitment.
  18. Bassett has stated he wants to be the face of the program and to change it. That statement has Oklahoma State vibes written all over it and I am all for it. Let's see the Bishop McCort to Stillwater pipeline. Anywhere but Penn State - they have more than enough going for them at the moment.
  19. By this morons nihilistic logic, nobody should wrestle except like 15 people.
  20. Didn't watch em but looked like they competed hard I am rooting for Morgan State. It wikk be cool when they have their first all American.
  21. I thought the same but apparently certifications have occurred and it is inferred he weighed under 165. Which convinces me otherwise.
  22. i dont know what you mean about him already being under 165lbs?
  23. Ryder, Facundo, and Haines all at 174. Barr will have to go 197 this year because of Starocci, but will come down to 184 next year. Ryder and Haines have RS available, but they are all young, so someone is gonna sit out during eligible years. I understand why they recruit the way they do. I also get why kids go there when there is no lineup synergy. I just I think we are going to see the crazy levels of depth in recruiting come to a stop here soon as people get to see high AA level guys sitting and transferring out. It's gotta happen, right?
