  1. Ok, sure. But it is essentially viewed as the program allocating dollars. I am sure they collaborate on where to put the money to use.
  2. Does this rumor have legs? Or is it just an obvious option for a good kid getting pushed out the lineup.
  3. His fall from grace. His total loss of value to even average programs. He is going to a school ranked 76 out of 77(?) last year by wrestlestat.
  4. Different year. Different circumstances in my opinion too
  5. Speaking only for myself, I lost a lot of respect when they did all that forfeiting at 2022 Big Tens. A huge sign of bad culture there. Since then, this portal focus is another sign. The Iowa brand is downstream from their culture, and it doesn't seem good from the outside looking in(emphasis on the outside).
  6. This basically says it all. A former true freshman national champion transfers to a school where nine wrestlers went 0-2 at conference and the other went 1-2.
  7. It happened and is public knowledge.
  8. I do not fully understand the rules to give good commentary on Bolt, Kerkvliet, and Downey on the tournament. I do think it is advantageous for the MMA scoring approach that is being used. I can imagine that they all will be abke to score a takedown and then stall on top/ let their opponent escape to their feet and repeat. I would imagine most of their opponents will pull guard, but I am unsure if they will get a caution for pulling. Anyone know the scoring system?
  9. She publicly dumped on him. He appears to be associated with some very good wrestlers. Sometimes it is personalities colliding, but to diminish a world champs skill and attribute it to strength to the point that the wrestler loses confidence is not good coaching/mentoring. If it works, it works. There are skills, physical attributes, and tactics. They can all be pieces together in infinite ways.
  10. Is it a good or a bad thing when you get a Bob Dole? I give them like they're likes, but nobody ever told me
  11. Who was Amit Elor coaches by in 2022. She dogged on that training situation in a recent Flo article. Wasn't it that guy who used to coach Pico?
  12. Medalists in the top half are Dauletbekov, a two time bronze at 86kg in 2022 and 2023, and Gamkrelidze, a silver at 79kg in 2023. Ishiguro had wins against Amine and Zahid in 2023 at Zagreb. He also beat Dauletbekov this year in Hungary ranking series. Shapiev lost to Amine for Bronze last year but won the Olympic wrestle-off. Ramazonov got in via Last Chance Qualifier. He beat Marstellar and Dauletbekov in 2024 at Zagreb
  13. With Blaydes and Welker there, does it make any sense. Amit Elor is only 20 years old. How likely is it that she goes 68kg in 2028, or even in 2025?
  14. Or how about all programs have their flaws(although I do not agree with anything you said about the Buckeyes).
  15. That would be a shame. They really ought to exhaust all options to ensure these two countries do not have to compete against one another in Paris due to the required forfeiting from Iran. Altering brackets and opponents goes against the spirit of competition in doing this, but it just needs to happen.
  16. I think he is basically a politician
  17. So I am not at all sure of this, but I thought I heard Spencer Lee say in some short video that the ladies got the old wrestling room.
  18. Iowa built this giant wrestling room for 30 athletes. Probably could have saved some money if they knew this ahead of time.
  19. You watch Greco?
  20. Without knowing if Blaze will go there or not, Bouzakis at 141 is the right prediction at this time. Rogotzke competed at 92kg at U20s, so i can see him moving up
  21. You see what you want to see. You are a hater. That is fine. Give me a "program with comparable resources" and I will find something to bitch about if I look really hard and focus on them for years.
  22. It is the recruiting. He would have been a 4xer no matter where he went.
  23. That's absurd. So they can recruit but not coach? Their success is due to what?
  24. Those are fighting words. I feel like I've heard other people say that, and is the sentiment rooted in how nobody can be Penn State? Who can even coach if the Ohio State coaches can't coach? Surely there's more than 1 coaching staff that can coach.
