I love it. A great Hire. Steiber is the head coach of the RTC and Coleman is the assistant. Adding Coleman in Columbus as an assistant at the RTC is a huge get.
Steiber is an assistant coach for tOSU as well, although most of his paycheck comes from the RTC. I would imagine Coleman Scott will be involved with the college room, but the hire is only associated with the RTC, but he is part of the Buckeye program - it is one in the same really.
Yes, the trajectory of the programs are essentially the opposite. Hofstra placed top 7th in 2007. They had 2 AAs in 2012, but only one since in 2018.
Hofstra AA's the past 20 years:
Never heard of him. I would love to know who applied.
Pritzlaff went to Columbia for goodness sake. Columbia and Hofstra are of a similar tier in wrestling and both in NY. Not sure what the Hofstra scholarship situation is and if they are fully funded, but it is more than zero at Ivy league. Obviously you can sell kids on being set up for life with a powerful alumni network if they go to Columbia, but it does feel like a hard job I heard something about Pritzlaff's daughter going to school in NY as a contributing factor to his decision to move. If Hofstra passed on Pritzlaff, their admin are not serious about wrestling.
Yianni could stay on as a Spartan Combat Athlete and keep his shoe deal if he were to leave Ithaca.
I am super interested to see who ends up at Cowboy RTC after they graduate college. Could any young PSU guys head out there after college? I wonder if O'Toole will leave Missouri. Keckeisen seems like he will stay at UNI. I figured now was the time for Alirez to leave, but rumor is he was promised a coaching job upon graduation. Maybe Suriano heads out there for a bit.
SoCon and MAC schools getting nixed early. Only like 2 or 3 left from each of those conference(Citadel/Campbell and George Mason/Clarion/Edinboro)
Also interesting thing to note, he listed all of the Big Ten schools to start off except Michigan State
So it looks like these are payments for a 4 week period. So doing the math, Taylor is getting about a million and his assistants are getting about north of $100k(hard to say how much over $100k to go with consideration for deductions for benefits)
So this all tells me that Taylor is the highest paid coach in wrestling, and his assistants are paid in the range for assistant coaches at the bit time programs(outside of Terry Brands).
And then there is the RTC money that might land in these coaches pockets. So we do not know how much more can be tacked onto those salaries. It could be a lot.
I am guessing that schools can still test and suspend athletes for positive tests for weed, it is just the NCAA tests that no longer include weed in their panel.
The rumor always was that the NCAA tests were only for PEDs and not street drugs, but again, these were just rumors.
Surely he will post on Instagram for where he is when he visits. Kid can't not reach for engagement we will know soon enough, but any rumors as to where he might land?
I thought AJ was an accomplice to a robbery/breaking and enterint his brother did in Florida. What happened with that? Can't be too hard for a college coach to confirm or negate that story at least in regards to Anthony.
He is one of the most accomplished college wrestlers to enter MMA - 4x AA, 3rd, 1st, 8th, 1st. Besides Nickal and Jordan Oliver(is he really fighting?), I think AOC is the third most accomplished wrestler active in MMA. Correct me if I am wrong.
