  1. If Cassioppi is heavyweight and Patrick Kennedy is 174 next season, what is Iowa doing? Fanbase should be pissed. You can't let these 6th and 7th year kids take it from the future of the program. I do not like it. Good problems to have, my ass. Two big time recruits missing out on a year of eligibility. Maybe Kueter can use last year as an Olympic RS?
  2. Feels like Caliendo is smaller than Kennedy at this point, however Pyles did say something last week about how he was hearing that neither Caliendo nor Kennedy are going down to 157. I think Kennedy should transfer to tOSU.
  3. Patrick Kennedy is a Big Ten Champ and U23 World Team Member, but will not start at Iowa. I was expecting him to hit the portal, but it feels like that is not happening this year. We act like it is a forgone conclusion that Gabe Arnold is the starter - maybe we should reconsider that assumption.
  4. This is the only way in my mind to get all those guys in the lineup
  5. It's a neat concept. Guessing, but maybe the idea is you figure out the details of where you can actually score the points, and work backwards to find out how to get there. As opposed to taking a shot and not having clear direction on where to go. It's a bit of a confusing and philosophical concept to think about. I think I like it, but would need to ponder the concept for a long time about why to do it before I could commit to this approach in practice. Maybe someone has been to an M2 practice that can weigh in?
  6. What do you mean by drill backwards through positions? I am intrigued.
  7. Assuming Parco goes 149, it means Iowa's second biggest recruit from last year is likely to sit out due to taking Parco from the portal. There is no way you take Parco from the portal and sit him. Recruits are everything. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but as a blue chip recruit you choose your school with an assumption that you likely have a spot at your weight. This is now something recruits have to think about before choosing a school, and take note of each program's portal strategy.
  8. Stieber, Heil, and Nato did not attend SPG. You might be confusing some of these people with Jeff Jordan's club. I did not know about Brascetta at Maryland, though. Good call.
  9. Yes, but a big enough age gap where it makes it irrelevant(guessing). I do not think Taylor has many roots in Saint Paris after graduating. I believe his family moved to State College. Honestly, there aren't any other Saint Paris Graham kids in college coaching besides Bo Jordan - who I did see Taylor use as a drill partner often when they were younger and smaller.
  10. You're right. I cannot read
  11. I'm making the same point as you, you're just trying to disagree. He said he would go to heavyweight after winning NCAAs and then did not do it the next year. It's been multiple years since he said it and he is still smaller than an undersized heavyweight, hence my statement. The kid has worked his ass of for his physique, clearly, but not sure his genetics will let him get much bigger during his athletic years. He is going to fight 205 I would guess. He would need to give up on being lean to become a heavyweight. Wikipedia has him as 6 foot tall, which means he is likely not even 6 foot
  12. Looks like nothing has been announced.
  13. Kueter is kinda in front of AJ, but AJ is never growing into heavyweight just looking at the difference in size. It will take years and he won't be wrestling in his late 20s. Hell, he may never wrestle in his 20s outside of the soldier salute.
  14. Some stud is gonna miss out on a year of eligibility. Haines has to stay down at 157 and Kasak needs to redshirt. Haines might need to use a redshirt if he wants to go up to give Messenebrink an extra year to grow into 174.
  15. Sunkist is ending(or has ended). So what is next for everyone in Arizona? Does Mark Perry have a job? He is not on staff at ASU. Maybe I missed something. And also, what happens to all the wrestlers? Is something else(RTC) being stood up in place of Sunkist
  16. Gomez or Davison. Probably Gomez. Good for him. I am still doubtful of the numbers thrown around, but if he got 6 figures, that is awesome.
  17. It's an interesting route for sure. It will never happen again. You gotta keep up with the times and the cutting edge by being in the room. Assistant coaches do a lot, but the head coach needs to know how to manage the room, not the admin responsibilities. You have to be able to organize, motivate, and build culture. If you're worried about admin stuff the whole time, you could be lacking in important areas.
  18. That is wild. I cannot imagine he would give up the amazing thing he has built at AWA. What would be the AWA succession plan there? But how cool would it be if he just brought his brother with him. Keckeisen and O'Toole as RTC athletes for the next quad. You could also imagine some of his current AWA guys would flip on their commitments. Its a bunch of ifs. It is not going to happen.
  19. Damn autocorrect. I do not think the Buckeyes should try too hard to land Askey. He is not a big improvement, and time would be better spent on other people that may show up in the portal.
  20. Probably odd men out with Oakley and Gallagher
  21. Buckeyes have Paddy Gallagher. One of them would need to go 165
  22. Tell me about the McKenna shenanigans?
  23. Any details that can be shared? I understand the situation is private.
  24. I can't imagine this is true. Also, unsure if you're a troll. I think I have seen you defending AJ before.
  25. What is this joke about?
