Short set, Stephen Marley acoustic tribute to his father. (We’re going back to the theatre for round 2 today) -
Season over, my youngest has been eyeing these at Farmer Joes for a while. He’s earned a “job well done!” (In it’s rarest form)

Agree with many things you say on here, but I gotta strongly (respectfully) disagree with these two things here. The first part: I believe the level of manipulation and bias in ‘information’, as well as the public’s acceptance of it, has continuously growing to each new year being a new all time high, and has been for a long time. The second part: maybe or maybe not more people realize, but the behavior doesn’t show it. People still to a high degree continue to fall in for whatever side ‘their media’ is displaying. Just go through and read thread after thread of this board…

What made the 70's such a great time for modern rock bands?
WrestlingRasta replied to mspart's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
It was the decade after the Beatles truly changed the game. They planted the seed and the great rock and roll bands sprouted from there. And a young man from Jamaica took his ska/rock-steady groove from his neck of the woods, blended it with some rock and a nice funky vibe......and changed the world! Then the 80's introduced music being made by technology. -
Well…..because I wasn’t talking about Obama, nor did I say he was saying anything about the advantages of the communist system. I made note that he omitted the role that freedom, or lack thereof, has on the topic, which is a pretty powerful impact. In other words my whole point of the post is he failed to mention how not being a free people plays into that. Now, whether he left that out intentionally or unintentionally I’m sure can be debated to ad nauseam. In a chat room full of ‘patriots’, I don’t see why pointing that out would be an issue.

In case you missed it Tucker is in Russia and has been going on about how clean the streets and subways are, much nicer than anything you are going to find in America he says. And....... he is absolutely right. I have spent time in Russia and they keep the streets, sidewalks, subways, etc immaculate. No joke, you could picnic on the ground in the subways. I don't like to wear shoes, if i can walk around barefoot I'm going to......boy did I get some looks of death. But what is not being told is the 'why'? Why are the streets, sidewalks, and subways all so immaculate? Because when you have freedom, you also have the freedom to make the wrong choice. Unfortunately freedom isn't free. It takes work and also takes acceptance that people are going to do stupid shit when they are free to do so. That's a pretty important part of the story...

Great movie. Will probably go again this weekend with the kids and more. Mostly about the time from when he got shot in his home prior to Smile Jamaica. ->his self imposed exhile to London and making Exodus -> back to Jamaica for One Love. In there are flashbacks relaying his relationship with Rita. It just barely dabbles in his childhood and come up in music. The story is less about the times in Jamaica and how his poverty affected him, and more about what he wanted to do with his music. Did a great job telling that story. No “huh I didn’t know that” moments in the movie for me but really enjoyed how the story was told. Having been to Nine Mile and Trenchtown I would have liked to have seen a more life long story, but like I said for the story it wanted to tell it was really good.
