  1. Here’s a helpful hint: There was at least one National Guard unit on active orders in the Capital that day. They were deployed throughout the city, manning traffic control points. Many of them less than two miles away. Quite a few less than a mile away. Many could have been there in less than 15min if ordered to help; they weren’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So, when Biden holds the federal government accountable, it’s bad. When MAGA holds federal government accountable (which they’ve never done in any meaningful way re: law), that’s good. Got it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Anyone else see this on the UWW page??? Last paragraph. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. He was at Penn State last year. Not sure if he was ever on the team or going to school there. But there were commitment graphics, at one point. I think Nagao transferring in and Bartlett taking 3rd, with three and two years left, respectively, ended up making him recommit to Clarion. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Most left-leaning individuals in the cycling sphere are fine with this. Particularly women (those impacted most), from what I've observed. This is the correct course of action. I have no problem with transgender participants taking part in bike races, but it needs to be in the men's category. Why? Because even if they are on substantial testosterone suppression/reduction medications, they've had the physiological development of a man for a significant portion of their life. That's no small thing.
  6. He didn’t say he saw it. Trump admitted to it in an interview. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I see that someone woke up and chose violence this morning. Ouch.
  8. Meanwhile, Gym Jordan’s next big whistleblower turns out to be an unregistered foreign agent working for the Chinese. Brilliant! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. "McCarthyism ... is a movement around which men of good will and stern morality can close ranks." -William F. Buckley
  10. Houck admitted to pushing the victim twice. Should the FBI should not pursue justice based on the religion of the assailant?
  11. IIRC, both Evan Henderson and Yianni were on the verge of being teched by Musukaev and then he more or less fell over dead in the second period. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I very much doubt we ever see him make 197, and wrestle effectively, again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That was an absolutely inexcusable lack of knowledge and preparation against Musukaev. I was absolutely shocked by that. Even if he gets put on the clock two times and gets taken down a time or two in the first, a guy with a motor like Nick Lee should know that if he’s still in the match (behind 9 or less) in the second period, he has a chance. A good one, even. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Assuming Starocci comes back, someone from the Haines/Messenbrink/Facundo trio is taking a RS/OLY RS next year.
  15. Ugh. Facepalm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That’s a series of ideas with absolutely horrific consequences for the US. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Tell me which weapons systems you think the US DOD should use against a country not engaged in a war with the US. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. The point is that was a national poll. Individual Republican congressman from purple districts? Probably not going for it. State legislatures are an entirely different story. Deep red states like Florida would jump into action immediately if Meatball clicked his white-booted heels together three times, after a theoretical overturn of Obergefell. Correction: Gay marriage is still banned by Florida law. It’s just superseded by a SCOTUS decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. We were already replacing them whether we used them or not. That’s the point. They have to be used or destroyed; they have a shelf life. Again, their replacements were paid for years ago. Also, it’s weird how you seem to be so against the US DOD taking advantage of the situation to improve its ability to protect America. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Support for gay marriage has dropped 15% among Republicans in the last year. Turns out, stirring up hatred against the trans community may have affected how people feel about gay marriage. https://www.newsweek.com/americans-less-accepting-same-sex-relationships-poll-shows-1807422?amp=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Latin. Was this supposed to be some sort of “gotcha”? I first encountered this word when I was 12, reading about Gaius Julius Caesar in Gaul. Specifically Cisalpine Gaul and Transalpine Gaul. The former means “this side of” the Alps, the latter “the far side of” the Alps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The vast majority of the weapons we’re sending them have already been paid for, are beyond their shelf life, and are contractually required to be destroyed. They are being destroyed, but instead of that being done in the US, they are being used against Russian forces. Their replacement costs were allocated before the war in Ukraine began. We’re also getting priceless research and data from/on Russian weapons systems. Data we could not get without our systems being used in Ukraine. So, “unchecked spending” is a bit of a misnomer. Obama and Trump’s budgets paid for these weapons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Also, here's the problem with making gay marriage a state's rights issue: What happens when you move from a state that allows gay marriage to one that forbids it? Does your marriage become invalidated? What happens if you or your spouse are accused of a crime in a state in which gay marriage is illegal? Do you not have spousal privilege anymore? Will you be forced to testify against your spouse, where a straight couple would not have to do so? Seems that would be a massive violation of the 14th Amendment, no? A straight couple would literally have different privileges under the law than a gay couple.
  24. Slippery slope? It's not a logical fallacy: he very clearly said that they should reconsider the case. This is what Clarence Thomas wrote: In future cases, we should reconsider all of this court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. You don't think Florida and Texas would ban gay marriage, right now, given their current political climate? Really? Are you that naive?
  25. So, is corruption your bar for determining who does and doesn’t deserve to get invaded by Russia? It really sounds like you’re trying to justify kids being stolen from Ukraine because some politicians in their country may have embezzled some money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
