  1. Aaron Nagao - Penn State (New school)
  2. A real test of endurance.
  3. Galaxy World. Wow. Haven't heard that name in a long, long time. The Ace Hardware that used to be across the street had a bunch of great model railroad layouts that the 6 year old version of me loved.
  4. Why don't you take yourself back across North Avenue, old man?
  5. FWIW, Mekhi is wrestling Starocci at 174. I know it was rumored he was going up but apparently not. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Over on the PSU board, several of us have noted that Cael might plan on RSing Haines anyways and that it would be pretty funny if Haines wins and then we don't see him again this year.
  7. I have to correct you here: the deep hole is evidence of a munition specifically designed to penetrate the ground before detonation, but not necessarily a tunnel. The munition could have been quite a ways off of its intended target and still had the same effect on the ground; i.e., leaving a crater after detonation.
  8. As to the lack of Iowa partipants at the All-Star Classic, here are some gems from HR/GIA: "Iowa isn’t gonna help promote an event at state college" "Woods was going to wrestle Alirez but Alirez is taking an ORS and hasn't been training folkstyle. So Woods decided against competing" It's during the week between Oregon State and ISU. "easy to be supportive when it's in your home gym" (talking about Penn State)
  9. Pretty sure the owner of this website confirmed that on Baschamania today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. But according to the experts on HR/GIA, the HWC > NLWC, for the college kids at least, because their guys actually practice with the college wrestlers.
  11. It's not an official match, so yes, he'd be eligible to RS. He has both a normal AND OLY RS available. Both Messenbrink and Haines certified at "165", so between 157 and 165. Given that neither of them has made the move to get big enough to be a full-feed 165, I'm guessing one of them is taking a RS, and that Facundo will be the 165 this year.
  12. Feldkamp has decked better, bigger wrestlers than Arnold. Although, Arnold could do what he does best, and avoid actual wrestling positions, and keep it close. I would expect both Swiderski or Echemendia to beat Voinovich. I think State wins 149, 165, 174, 184, 197 and 285 if the suspensions are upheld.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Big Ten women's volleyball had twice the viewership of all of wrestling. They do a really good job with it and it's a good product.
  14. Iowa-Iowa State? Do they WANT a bad product for TV?
  15. Purdon’t is 57-43 male-female. Ouch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Just a thought: In cycling, if you win Worlds, you get to wear the rainbow bands that year. Usually an all-white jersey with the rainbow bands across the chest and back. Past world champs (at that discipline and age level) are allowed to have jerseys with the bands on the cuff and collar. Very subdued but noticeable. Wrestling should do that. You might get these senior world champs to wrestle more if they got to show off a singlet with the world champion bands on an all-white top (red or blue bottom, of course). 17. If they weighed in at 118 and had to wrestle 2hrs later, better have an ambulance ready. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. If you ever find yourself north of Santa Fe, go to Abiquiu early in the morning. Go to the gas station and get a breakfast burrito. Sausage, bacon, it doesn’t matter. Just get one red and one green. You’ll thank me later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. No clue if it’s still there or owned by the same people but Taqueria El Paso in Christiansburg, VA was the best taco truck I’ve ever been to. I actually got James Green to try it when he was at VT. I don’t know how or why those guys made it to that area, but it was amazing. And I’ve lived, worked and traveled in plenty of agricultural areas where I had to speak Spanish to get by. CA, OR, WA produce and orchard country. Currently live in CO and go down to dusty towns in CO and NM all the time. Been to plenty of hole in the wall joints all over the Midwest and the western US, dozens and dozens of them, and that place is still the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Where are you guys watching Iowa State WOs?
  21. Ever heard of the phrase “Separate but equal”? Yeah. That’s what this is. You create a second class of citizens who can’t have the same thing, a state-sanctioned marriage, as another group of people. Everyone or no one. Pretty simple. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Because if a state sanctions marriages for some and civil unions for others, even if they are practically the same, it’s still discrimination on the basis of sex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. And they are just as likely to fight each other as they are US forces. Maybe even more likely.
  24. "Afghan".
  25. Because he wants to be a full size 189.6lb wrestler. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
