  1. Tell me which weapons systems you think the US DOD should use against a country not engaged in a war with the US. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The point is that was a national poll. Individual Republican congressman from purple districts? Probably not going for it. State legislatures are an entirely different story. Deep red states like Florida would jump into action immediately if Meatball clicked his white-booted heels together three times, after a theoretical overturn of Obergefell. Correction: Gay marriage is still banned by Florida law. It’s just superseded by a SCOTUS decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. We were already replacing them whether we used them or not. That’s the point. They have to be used or destroyed; they have a shelf life. Again, their replacements were paid for years ago. Also, it’s weird how you seem to be so against the US DOD taking advantage of the situation to improve its ability to protect America. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Support for gay marriage has dropped 15% among Republicans in the last year. Turns out, stirring up hatred against the trans community may have affected how people feel about gay marriage. https://www.newsweek.com/americans-less-accepting-same-sex-relationships-poll-shows-1807422?amp=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Latin. Was this supposed to be some sort of “gotcha”? I first encountered this word when I was 12, reading about Gaius Julius Caesar in Gaul. Specifically Cisalpine Gaul and Transalpine Gaul. The former means “this side of” the Alps, the latter “the far side of” the Alps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The vast majority of the weapons we’re sending them have already been paid for, are beyond their shelf life, and are contractually required to be destroyed. They are being destroyed, but instead of that being done in the US, they are being used against Russian forces. Their replacement costs were allocated before the war in Ukraine began. We’re also getting priceless research and data from/on Russian weapons systems. Data we could not get without our systems being used in Ukraine. So, “unchecked spending” is a bit of a misnomer. Obama and Trump’s budgets paid for these weapons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Also, here's the problem with making gay marriage a state's rights issue: What happens when you move from a state that allows gay marriage to one that forbids it? Does your marriage become invalidated? What happens if you or your spouse are accused of a crime in a state in which gay marriage is illegal? Do you not have spousal privilege anymore? Will you be forced to testify against your spouse, where a straight couple would not have to do so? Seems that would be a massive violation of the 14th Amendment, no? A straight couple would literally have different privileges under the law than a gay couple.
  8. Slippery slope? It's not a logical fallacy: he very clearly said that they should reconsider the case. This is what Clarence Thomas wrote: In future cases, we should reconsider all of this court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell. You don't think Florida and Texas would ban gay marriage, right now, given their current political climate? Really? Are you that naive?
  9. So, is corruption your bar for determining who does and doesn’t deserve to get invaded by Russia? It really sounds like you’re trying to justify kids being stolen from Ukraine because some politicians in their country may have embezzled some money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. He doesn’t know. He thinks we’re handing over pallets of cash and “cluster bombs”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It was very interesting to see Casey Cunningham in Messenbrink’s corner already. Also, Messenbrink is Vito-quick. I was amazed by that. It will be interesting to see what PSU does at 157-165. I think both Haines and Messenbrink would be locks for the 157 final. Not sure if Messenbrink is anywhere near full sized 165 yet. I could see one of them taking a RS, the other going 157, and Facundo going 165 again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. The highest point in Nebraska is 5,429ft. Therefore, no, fishing is not great in Nebraska. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The only person who has used the word "idiot" in the last 100 posts is...you.
  15. Here’s a question for you: If 5,000 Ukrainians are killed by submunitions in the next 20 years, but they force Russia to retreat, is that better or worse than 100,000 Ukrainians dying and 300,000 more families/children being kidnapped? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. How many innocent civilians do you think are going to be hanging out in Russian trenches? Because that is going to be the target. They aren’t going to be firing these indiscriminately into their own towns and cities, unlike the Russians, who still regularly target civilians in Ukraine and Syria. Oh, and thanks for explaining UXO to me. I had no clue what it meant. /s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Russia has been using cluster bombs and munitions since the start of the war, against civilians, so I’m not sure they’d have much of a leg to stand on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Biden is right, all of the news outlets are wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Who are “a lot of people”? Not the highly informed legal team that Fox News hired to represent them, apparently. They thought it was sufficiently likely that Fox would lose (and face a higher loss) that they convinced Fox to settle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. They aren’t cluster bombs. They are cluster munitions. Old cluster bombs (Vietnam era) had pretty terrible UXO rates; sometimes 40%. They were also dumb bombs that could end up wildly off target. These have rates below 2%, they’re going to be fired by the best howitzer the world has ever seen and will be fired at fixed targets, specifically Russian trenches. If you’re in your house, shooting at me, and I’m a quarter mile away from you and I know where I am, I can call for fire from an M777 battery 15 miles away and with unguided munitions, they’ll likely put a round in your yard on the first salvo, vaporizing you. If your perspective is that of a Russian soldier, no, it’s not a good thing. If you are a Ukrainian trying to clear out a Russian trench and mine fortification, it’s amazing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Bombs are not propelled through the air; and they are not fired from an artillery. Also, artillery does not do “bombing”. Literally no one who knows anything about this would agree with anything you’ve said here. Maybe consider not expressing an opinion on the matter, eh? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. It’s incorrect reporting. We are sending 155mm rounds, not bombs. It doesn’t make sense to send bombs; you have to have air superiority to use them, which the Ukrainians don’t currently have. Likely get smoked by a SAM before getting close enough to drop most munitions. Whereas, with a 155mm battery, you can shoot and scoot from 20+ miles away. And these particular munitions are well suited to clearing trenches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. No. We are sending M483A1 155mm rounds. GPS enabled 155mm rounds with submunitions are not dumb, Vietnam-era clusterbombs. There is a massive difference. Also, trainloads of 20-40 year old men from Ukraine arrive in Germany every day… for military training. The 200k Russian troops will be the poorest equipped and trained yet. They are sending 1940s-era relics to the front these days. T54s/55s. M483A1s will chew through those like a can opener opening a pack of sardines. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Also, Russia revoked their participation in the Geneva Convention’s provisions on war crimes. Can’t commit a war crime (legally speaking) on someone from a country that pulled out of that agreement. Sucks to be a Russian soldier; protections go both ways. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-russia-warcrimes-convention/russias-putin-revokes-geneva-convention-protocol-on-war-crimes-victims-idUSKBN1WW2IN Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. We aren’t sending cluster bombs. Also, the US is sending expired, soon to be expired, or munitions that we don’t use in training. Things we have to pay to destroy anyways. So, instead of shipping them across the US, we fly them to Ukraine to get some live-fire weapons testing…for free. We get to see how our stuff stacks up against what was purportedly the second best army in the world, with no risk to American servicemen. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
