No, there was intermittent demand for them. For cost cutting measures, they were kept a central library for the entire school district. My parents were demanding mil levy increases to give every library in the district a copy of every book ever published, but they were unsuccessful. Back to the conversation. They weren't banned because you just had to order a day or two in advance. They were still in the card catalogue. I remember fondly waiting for my turn with the thermodynamics refrigerants textbook. You know how silly 9 year olds are!
