  1. But there would be a certain amount of collaboration with the coaching staff as to who gets offers, whether they publicly admit it or not.
  2. The team dissension has to be huge when someone new gets lured in with rumors of 6 figure payouts, and other guys already on the team with similar records are getting books and a fraction of a scholly.
  3. and a Seebolt (IA) club wrestler.
  4. On the right side of your picture, I think they should slide the first row to the back of the endzone and do a row of 3 mats, then a row of two, finally a row of 3 at about midfield. Then put in some more lower level seating around the 40 yard line on the left, and hang a curtain behind that at around the 30-35 yard line. Use the space behind the curtain for warm-up space and/or a fan congregating area. You could still have 40,000+ ticketed seats and a lot closer viewing.
  5. His uncle Tony and brother Anthony might be interested in the open positions.
  6. There is a lot of intriguing matchups with Minnesota vs SDSU this year with all the transfers for both teams. Flynn vs Jordan Askey vs Siebrecht Sparks vs Rhodes Whiting vs DeVos McEnelly vs Berge Salazar vs Glazier
  7. I have the feeling that following Albert around on any given weekend would provide multiple reasons for dismissal.
  8. Just dropped in to see if Bo picked his college yet. Carry on.
  9. Several of the wrestling media people have said that Iowa has already offered select high school recruits these amounts, but they just haven't accepted.
  10. No pop-up ads on my laptop using either Edge or Chrome browsers. I did see a few on my phone though.
  11. I haven't seen a pop up add yet on either Edge, Chrome, or Tapa Talk.
  12. Give a team an elite recruit/transfer and you feed them for a season (or at least a semester). Teach a team to recruit and you feed them for many years.
  13. Larry Lee and Tim Walz
  14. Maybe Vinesh just phogat to check her weight.
  15. What could possibly go wrong?
  16. Give 'em the double birds.
  17. Most schools shouldn't have to cut current team members because some will graduate and/or quit or transfer in 24-25, before this goes into effect in 25-26. They will just have to more closely watch how many they bring in next recruiting class.
  18. I wonder if college teams will use their RTCs as sort of a practice squad, where high level walk-ons can work out and potentially join the 30-man roster in the future.
  19. The Gophers have had at least 3 Olympic medalists that were still in college: Brandon Paulson (Silver), Garrett Lowney (Bronze), Gable Steveson (Gold).
  20. He's pretty college ready now. Great hand fighter and had a pretty big advantage in physicality and technique over other Minnesota high schoolers. I remember only two fairly close matches (Alex Braun, Cooper Rowe) last season. My only concern would be that his "improvement curve" has already peaked more than others in his class. I think he would do better at 149 than 157 based on his style.
  21. The lowest weight class will always have the issue of some being too small and others cutting their arse off, so I don't know that raising it would change anything. It's probably the hardest weight to recruit for this reason, and you just don't know who's going to keep growing.
  22. 40 years later I vividly remember not being able to move off my back after he threw me. I was a freshman and my senior captain came up to me after the match and gave me a titty-twister and said, "what's your excuse, you have two of these". (Lewis was born without one pectoralis muscle).
  23. I wrestled Lewis a couple years before this. It was in a folkstyle collegiate open, he had moved up to 142 and planted me in a similar way. I had never felt more pinned in my life.
