Uncharacteristically bad year for them, but they’ll bounce back. The cupboard is not bare. Shapiro is a head scratcher. 3 years now and he can’t seem to get over the hump.

It’s official. With Blaze’s TF over Knox, he’ll wrestle Seidel for 3rd and PSU has officially won.

It is garbage wrestling and I’ve hated it since its appearance. But what do we do about it? I don’t think you can realistically outlaw it, it’s here and here to stay unfortunately. I like severe, Draconian rules. They can drive behavior how you want and if they don’t, atleast they punish the guilty party. So. You know who the aggressor is, who initiated the action, which is what you want. Punish the other guy - first time is a verbal warning and stalemate, second time and every other time is a point for the aggressor. I don’t like counts, guys just let go and grab again to start the count again, you see it all the time on top. I’d be fine with neutral danger changes too…shorter count, cumulative count, something. It wouldn’t be a problem if it hadn’t become a strategy. It’s a lot of the same guys, who never attack but boy can they tie up a shot and hang on for a stalemate. It’s the on the mat version of grabbing and interlocking the fingers, which is another problem tactic of the offensively and/or conditioning challenged wrestlers we seem to have everywhere and across certain programs.

Penn St might want a 133 or 141 depending on how things shake out. Probably Jax transferring back home, but Bouzakis might warrant a bag from the slush fund too.

Davis is out. Lost 5-2. A new whipping boy will be needed.

Bouzakis just got decked

Think he got hit in the family jewels.

Blaze v Davino. Ugly matches so far. Not looking forward to version 3.0

Can we set up an exhibition match to get the 4th? I’d like PSU to have all the records. But seriously, 4 times in one season. That’s alot.

Next year we’re mandating posting birth certificates. Those with birth years starting with 19s will be placed in the queue and those with birth years starting with 20s will work to help the 19s with this whole process. What do we feel is best? A month prior? some of you guys…I fear for our species…

That’s par for the course with TanTom. He also has a few #1 seeds from the cancelled COVID year tourney on their national champs wall. Not the way we’d do it……

2nd post. What’s the trend here? Did it get more or less clownish. The worldwide leader in sports…their tag line, not mine, but it’s true likely, has decided to give our niche sport center stage across their platforms and you’re complaining over what is probably a you/your tech issue. I had no issues. I enjoyed the lengthy “what to watch this on” thread as guys overcomplicated this and complained ad naseum. But this isn’t that hard to figure out and yeah it might cost you a few bucks. Go check, there might be some kids on your lawn that need yelling at.

So maybe peaking in November wasn’t a good idea??

Working fine for me. ESPN on Fubo on the big screen. ESPN+ on my iPad. Everything labeled, easy to switch between. I check the little mat bar thing that scrolls between who’s on now and who’s on next and switch to ESPN+ individual mat view as needed. Haven’t missed a match I wanna see and seen just about everything else.

This didn’t seem to age well. Maybe wait until Day 1 is over before making Day 1 and the rest of the tourney prognostications?? “Missed it by THIS (1pt AHEAD of last year) much…”

I think he’s back to wrestling how he was early in the season. Mid season there was a little hiccup where he didn’t seem as aggressive. Now? Yikes. He’s wrestling like an animal, the Taylor loss seems to have a lit a fire in him. He keeps wrestling like this I don’t see anyone beating him.

125 - LL 133 - Seidel 141 - Mendez 149 - SVN 157 - Duke 165 - MM 174 - Levi 184 - McEnelly 197 - Barr 285 - Bastida

Run them in order. 125-285. Mendez is going for a 3rd, that’s amazing but not special, it’s happened before many times and likely will again. His potential accomplishment doesn’t really warrant special treatment. And I doubt he’d want it. I don’t think it should ever be out of order but if they do, it’s gotta be for something historic - a potential 4 yrs from now undefeated Jax or Vega (any other undefeated freshman?) going for a 4th. THEN, maybe.

I thought there was special rules in place if a coach leaves or a program shuts down?? Like the window reopens or opens at different time than normal to allow the effected athletes to transfer?? I’m sure it’s somewhere in the NCAAs portal rules, I know it’s there for a coach leaving, I would hope they’d address a program shutting down too.

Great possible news! Let’s hope it pans out! How great would it be to up the D1 count into the 80s-90s, maybe even into the 100 programs ball park over the next 10-20 years. Tack on a women’s team, you don’t have to fund 30 full rides. Give a few, split them, pay a staff and provide facilities…they’re wrestlers, they don’t need a palace, this is a tough sport!! Just need a chance!!

Vincenzo v IMar. 2x Bo v MyMar, Bo v Gabe Dean Wyatt v Steveson MM v Carr. Imagine if someone (MM, Casey, Cael, anyone in PSUs corner) knew the actual score Levi v Teemer (Levi was always my Dads favorite wrestler. RIP) Nick Lee v Eierman Quentin Wright v Hamlin? (Helped get the ball rolling for what we see today)

Channel my inner Vincenzo… I would never root for someone to lose. Ferrari plural. The whole clan. 184 and 285 get pinned early. Mom chips a nail, daughters find split ends, Dad forgets his favorite gold chain at home.

I watch ESPN+ on my iPad and have ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU up on the big screen (I use Fubo). My iPad/Apple makes it super easy. I have ESPN+ listed in my subscriptions (likely from doing this every year). I literally click one button to subscribe and one button to cancel. I’ll probably subscribe today or tomorrow and cancel Sat night/Sun - my month will play out and it’ll be done until next year. $12.99/mo, it’s super easy. I’m not tech savvy either and would live in a shack in Montana or another boxy state out West with no contact with the modern world if life would allow it. If I can do it, you can too!! Come on!! It’s NCAA week!! Let’s F@#$ing Go!!!

Thank you!

yikes. The way he’s rocking back and forth, he does smile eventually, but also has the usual super intense look during a buddy’s story, like he might snap. Just so tightly wound. I think they both gotta be on the Spectrum. This may be part of what made them such great wrestlers and competitors, and what made them great coaches early in their coaching careers, but I think most kids have changed and this hyper intense grind mentality doesn’t work with every kid anymore. Hence the night and day difference in their coaching trajectory last half of their career/Caels arrival at PSU.
