Wow. Seems premature, but I’ll play. Dollar and a dream right.. 133 is loaded. Blaze could win it, but I’m gonna predict that at this point. I could see him having a Zain like career. AAs as a freshman, takes an L or two in a loaded weight class, then goes on to dominate for 3yrs maybe never losing. 157. I’d like to see him wrestle A match first but ok. Pat Smith like career - minus the loses - he wins this year, redshirts, comes back and wins 3 straight. So 7 total. Maybe 6. Given their abilities and PSUs recent run rate with kids like this, it’s hard to not see 2-3 each in their future.

It was more a general statement here at the start of the season, everyone’s season is pretty new, first competitions, first few competitions. PSU seemed pretty busy over the summer, sorry your team wasn’t as busy. But glad they’re all back!!

A lady doesn’t kiss and tell… I’m not a lady…anyway, my sources say that rumor on X isn’t true. And that’s it’s purely transitioning him into college life, college wrestling, folk style after all the summer freestyle work. The cynic in me says well what about Blaze then? Why Duke but not Blaze. So who knows? Maybe it’s weight, maybe it’s just the descent plan, maybe it’s college life, maybe it’s free style to folk after a super busy summer and early fall internationally. He misses anything else or much else, I’ll worry. As of now, hard to not trust Cael, he seems to have this winning at wrestling thing pretty well figured out.

Looks like 3/18/2026 to 5/1/2026. Plenty of time for Iowa to scour the MAC and D3 for a few guys for their lineup. Also plenty of time for Bob to evict some single mothers to pay for it!! ‘tis the season!!

I think the TD differential was 35-1 PSU. Oklahoma managed 1 TD and 1 reversal against Nagao. Rest were escapes, often intentional. Overall a dominating performance against a depleted Oklahoma team. Don’t think them having the 4-6 guys that were out changes much. Maybe it’s 40-0 instead of 45-0. PSU has a good team. 125,133,149. As expected. Lilledahl wrestled a fire hydraunt and still managed to get to his offense. Blaze did Blaze things, I’m not predicting NC, but the kid is good and should be in the mix. 141. well…atleast he’s active. It will be nerve wracking but it’s better than 6:45 of nothing every match last year. I wasn’t impressed. First match back but same style which I don’t like. 141 is gonna be the “hole” in the lineup. 149, Sugar Shane aggressive and attacking. Love it. 157. Trot out the 3rd stringer and dominate. Sealy didn’t look great last year so happy he put together a good showing. 165 normal MM things. Wow. 174, scary first 6secs, yikes. But then back to normal. Levi has jumped levels. 184, very impressed, athletic, attacked, scored. Wasn’t what I expected. Pleasantly surprised and glad to be wrong. 197. Back up, came out against Oklahomas highest ranked wrestler, controlled the match, pushed and scored a MD at the end. Embarrassment of riches at so many weights for PSU. HWT. I just don’t know if he’s gonna be big enough. Had the other ranked kid, got to his offense a few times, won a close match against a big man, but not a big man I think anyone is projecting to do much. He weighed in at 228. I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes. Glad to have wrestling back!!!

Having watched him tonight and 2yrs ago. I don’t know? Not a huge fan of his style and it’s gonna make for some exciting matches. Could definitely see the rust from time off and coming off an injury. He’s the guy. Better than watching last years guy do nothing for 6:45 and let everyone hang around… We shall see.

They’re easing his transition into the college folk style season. Probably Army Black Knight Invitational will be his first action. Rumor he didn’t make weight was floating around but doesn’t appear to be true. Either way, embarrassment of riches. Trot out the 3rd stringer and roll to a TF.

I love Cael. He doesn’t want to be out there talking to the media. Very dry sense of humor. Master of filling his mandated media time with absolutely nothing if he can help it. Brands are much more fun interviews. If you didn’t follow wrestling you’d likely ask “who’s that mental patient?” Ryan is always good for some whining and complaining. Glad the season is finally here!!!

Personally I think a healthy Kerk beats Wyatt in the semis but still loses to Steveson in the finals. It went another way obviously and made for an amazing end to the tourney. Wow! That was a match. Elijah Brown was an intriguing late addition to the class. He won PIAA 215 last year and I think he won Fargo this past year?? What I like the most about him is he’s apparently 6’4”. So a big frame to add weight to be a college heavy. Maybe PSUs next Kerry McCoy?? One can hope or dread depending on fandom. The larger Mirasola - I still can’t remember which is which and I’m too lazy to look right now - he’s added some weight but he’s still gonna be a small heavy. And I don’t think he has the frame to really add a ton of weight over his next 3-4 yr career. Small heavies have had success at NCAAs so we shall see.

This was kinda known for months. It’s purely roster management. Duke is not long for 157, both Duke and Kasak have RS available. Duke goes 157 this year (Year 1) because he’s likely on a path to 165-174. Kasak goes 157 next year (Year 2) while Duke RS. Year 3 both go because MM will have graduated and they slot in perfect Kasak a RS Sr 157, Duke a RS Soph 165.

I don’t think the Brands are going anywhere. They’ll leave when they decide to leave. Two main reasons. They’ve been successful - they’ve won titles, they’re always in contention still. And it’s wrestling, this isn’t football or basketball that drive the AD ship and catch all the attention. If Ferentz can still be coaching given his so-so, above avg results over a long career and only having had to sacrifice his son, the Brands are safe. And who else is there? Who would come in Day 1 in the next season or 3 and move the needle majorly like Cael did or DT has? Dake? Burroughs? A former PSU wrestler like a Nolf or Cenzo? Not sure those are options. And the next 3 seasons title or bust? That’s a tough pull. This haul of kids doesn’t show up on campus for what? 2-3 yrs? So you’re expecting a lot from kids who haven’t wrestled a collegiate match yet. Maybe that’ll adjust as they age and start beating college guys while in HS like the current batch of wunderkinds and expectations Day 1 will rise. PSU is a virtual lock for this season and next season. And as we get into next season the crystal ball clears and PSU, Okie St are probably the main contenders for season 3. Ohio St, Nebraska, Michigan, VT are lurking. Cornell’s in there to contend. Iowa has a lot more competition to contend with in the 3-4 seasons you’re giving the Brands and most of those teams have huge head starts.

Ugh. I’m not proud of it, but God I can’t stand this kid or the family for the most part. Watching this kid be successful really challenges any faith I have left. Really hoping he doesn’t win this year. Seems to be a small handful of smaller, athletic heavy’s like him, come on Bastida!!

Definitely some good pick ups for the Hawks. Prior to landing Bo for 5mins and post Bo/Melvin debacle things were looking dire. This gets them back in the conversation for a team trophy in coming seasons. Question though - are various braces and shoulder harnesses assigned upon commitment or only upon enrollment? Do they get them first day of practice? Is it all waiting in their dorm for them? Is it part of a commitment/official visit swag bag?? And how much did this cost Bob?? What kind of eviction numbers can Midwestern single mothers and sufferers of cancer expect in the next few years?? Also shouldn’t the NCAA investigate? I mean one program getting so many good kids at once, can’t be kosher right? We all know Iowa’s NCAA recruiting violation history… I kid, I kid…good pick ups.

The Ivy League really has some garbage eligibility rules that kids have to play these games to stay eligible for a full 4 or 5 yrs. I wonder if he’ll have to do this again next year to remain Ivy/Cornell eligible?

One year (and I think mid year?) fill in. NQ and NQ. It’s a wash. Lawson. Dude played football D3, comes to PSU not having wrestled in 3-4yrs and AAs under Cael. Andrew Long. 2nd to 3rd to jail. Maybe about the only one you’ve been right on. Cyler. 7th to 6th. I’d say a wash, but technically slight improvement. Maybe it was Dads coaching? Kyle Conel. 3rd out of nowhere, comes to PSU, gets injured. I think Caels record speaks for itself. He recruits AND coaches. And has by far the best staff and RTC crew in the country. And why does he recruit so well? Because guys wanna wrestle for the best coaches. Which is what PSU has, top to bottom. Best you did was cherry pick some transfers and point out that several improved, most were a wash and a few (injury and jail) regressed. Wow! Such an indictment of a horrible coach. I sure hope he sticks around and coaches this bad for another 20yrs, he’ll retire with 30 titles.

If only there were some place you could find such information…. That would state definitively why said wrestler isn’t ranked… New to posting here guys, did I give Jimmy the “business” properly?? I’m not as funny as some of you…

PSU looks to be so dominant this year (on paper - a lot can change when the whistles start blowing), I don’t think even the Field would win a dual. PSU could/should win 125, 149, 157(I think both Kasak or Duke likely win it all), 165, 174, 197. 133 Blaze could win, or could finish top 4-5, 141 might be a “hole” that could low AA 5-8/R12, 184 could win or could finish top 4, 285 is the other “hole” that could low AA 5-8/R12. Not much of a window at the “weak” weights for many from the field that could/would win. 133 maybe 3-5 guys might beat Blaze and it’s likely a decision. 141 maybe 8-12 guys could beat Davis/Nagao and again likely a decision. 184 is small group, 3-5 guys and again likely a decision, 285 maybe 8-12 guys, need to see how Mirasola does with the larger heavies in a full season of action, again likely a decision. PSU could/would bonus 125,149,157,165,174,197. That dual would be like 18-25 PSU 12-13 Field. Could easily see another scoring record broken, 8-10 AAs, new records for finalists and champs. And a post season full of arguments here over if this is the best team ever or if it was Iowa or Okie States teams from 19dickety2. And what if somehow Ono gets snuck into the lineup this year?? Yikes…

I don’t even know what I just saw. But it felt forced and like a violation. I need to talk to a moderator…anyone have a doll I can borrow to show where the bad tweets hurt me??

How many schools would that make for him?? Iowa, Iowa St, Ohio St? Chattanooga?? Hard to keep track, some people change underwear less frequently…
