  1. Double bronze is good for the sport. The UWW knows that the IOC likes to see a diverse group of countries medaling. For some countries it’s their only medal. Albania for instance. Eliminating a bronze would likely prevent some of these countries from earning a medal. Let’s keep the ioc as happy as possible.
  2. I like folkstyle and have no problem sticking with it. However, most of the anti -freestyle arguments confuse me. “However, how would we deal with the mat, referee and review issues for high school and jr high?” What mat issues? Use the same mat. Referee issues? Not a problem. Use one ref. Review issues? Not a problem, no review. Nothing changes. “How exciting is it going to be to watch a Jr high or HS kid or even college kid win a match by 10 quick push outs or even a takedown and 4 quick turns inside 20 seconds.” How exciting is it to watch a kid win a match with a takedown and a half Nelson inside 20 seconds?
  3. Welcome aboard! I’ve missed the presence of Uranus fans from our previous forum home.
  4. I might be willing to start counting NF from neutral. That would be easy to do, and might be a way we could improve freestyle success without changing folk too much. Just get guys more aware of their own backs. Spencer Lee is one of the best scramblers in recent NCAA history according to Ben Askren He never exposed. Sure, he lost a deciding scramble in the Olympics, but it could have gone either way Great scrambler, never exposes himself
  5. I appreciate it. Knew you’d come up big here.
  6. I will say that (after I praised the level of gymnastics coaching in the US in another thread) Zeke Jones once told me “the level of wrestling instruction in this nation is incredible” But this was also spoken at a camp that had 5+ Olympic medalists as instructors
  7. Snyder owns Rudis? I thought it was 25% each for rowlands, Nancy Schultz, Jeff Jordan, and the old SPG assistant. Is it 20% each with Snyder now?
  8. What is the “noose series?” I probably have a different name. Legit curious.
  9. And the USA has supplanted Russia and China to become the top gymnastic power. My son, who ended up wrestling, was coached by an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics. I loved his coaches, but they weren’t Olympic gold medalists. I am not sure what the point is, other than there’s top quality gymnastics coaching throughout the US.
  10. RBY and Zain are not eligible
  11. Because 65 is an Olympic weight. 65 is very difficult for yianni at this point, especially when fighting injuries.
  12. Post of the decade.
  13. Thank you sir. As I expected. She admittedly cheated anyway.
  14. I LOVE freestyle. Used to love Greco. but folkstyle has proven to be the best.
  15. Can you give me freestyle results for GSP or Khabib?
  16. But Cormier and Cejudo wrestled folk, correct? Did Khabib ever wrestle one freestyle match? How many takedowns did he get in the fever of the cage? What about Yoel Romero? Couture? Henderson? Lidell?
  17. Cormier and Cejudo had folkstyle backgrounds. Khabib had about 99% of takedowns against a fence. Did he enter freestyle tourneys?
  18. They may want to blur those out!
  19. He did Zagreb and Pan Am. I don’t think he did the other three. Hes generally one of the more active US guys.
  20. No ranking events, no seed. Even for a 40x world champ. (Or as we saw a 4x Olympic champ)
