  1. Is this "nit pick besmirch a war hero day?"
  2. It is pretty amazing when people say PEDs "don't help that much" and then you have the Mohammedian and Boltukaev "before and after" results to point to. "They don't give you better technique or make you wrestle better, etc..."
  3. Its getting to the point that there are almost more Cubans in the NCAA than the World Freestyle tourney! (or at least on Iowa State)
  4. I know from collegiate: Forfeit= you don't show up for a match; injury= you got hurt and couldn't finish a match. I have been warned this week about making assumptions, but this is my assumption!
  5. I was quoting previous post, or I would have said 57 kg.
  6. A conspiracy theorist might say that the last two Worlds were in Serbia. Are ranking series tournies given weight allowances?
  7. Covid craziness last time! Remember that? Probably the last athletic event that I watched for months. It was considered huge when Gilman beat the Cuban.
  8. Does Cruz need to beat anyone, or does he just need to place ahead of them? And when was the last time Micic made 125?
  9. RBY. Darian Cruz. Does Cuba have someone who is at least a little bit of a threat?
  10. This would be the reason. Iowa is a GREAT job. The pay would be fantastic, the fan base are rabid, the boosters are generous, and they will soon have the best facilities in the world. But... why would DT want that? He is living what appears to be a pretty good life at the moment, without the headaches that come from dealing with a few dozen 18-24 year olds. (And there is no indication that he even has the "wiring" necessary to be a head coach)
  11. 97 Kg RUS, "true 6th" correct? Are there actually 5th and 6th place points, now that the matches are contested?
  12. The men as well, but for different reasons.
  13. I am far from the wrestling mind that a lot of these athletes and coaches are, but it would seem to me, there needs to be a more concerted effort to utilize baseline defense and save the chest wraps for when they are "really there" or you "really need it." A go behind is 2 points and so is a chest wrap from the knees. Kendall Cross, the funkiest of all our Olympic champs once said that he really started to get better when he was convinced to use baseline D first and save the funk for when it was really there.
  14. Good analysis. Dake matches can be pretty boring, but his highlight reel is electric!
  15. Yes. The world is aware of it. The thing is, he has plenty of tools.
  16. Dake loves that chest wrap. You had better believe that Sidakov knew what to expect.
  17. And Vito has had experience being sucked out and underperforming at 57 kg. And now he is a year bigger.
  18. I'm pretty sure the #1 reason for Vito's "miraculous" improvement this year was him cutting way less weight. Pretty sure Rob Koll would agree with me. I'm also guessing that a entire year in which his body has likely grown a bit isn't going to make the cut to 57 kg any easier.
  19. Would they have to change the transfer rules to do this?
  20. I'll take that over Worlds. OP didn't say "World finalist, " just said "finalist."
  21. Must be some good prize money for Bahraini medalists!
