  1. ... and Starroc-knee has now offered his two cents.
  2. He is coaching arguably the second best club in the nation at this point. He has trained high schoolers who are capable of coming right in and placing top 3 in NCAA. I'd say the jury is in.
  3. Train with NLWC? Isn't he a competitor now? Train with Nickal? Nope! Brooks? Highly unlikely!
  4. Thankfully for DT, Oklahoma State is a Nike program!
  5. Hopefully he kept some of his sky blue clothing after the move!
  6. I don't think think the RTC coach will be Derek Fix with a splash of Chris Perry mixed in.
  7. To continue your earlier posts: John Smith claimed to have beaten every World/Olympic rep in training camp matches in the general vicinity of his own Olympic weight. This streak supposedly continued until Jamill Kelly defeated him in 2004 training camp. Whether this actually happened is unknown, but it is what he told Kelly. No word on whether that was true or Smith was trying to psych Kelly up.
  8. John Smith didn't win a gold while relocating his family, selling his farm, his wife's juice bar, and his cows. Not to mention a decidedly weird training environment at PSU. Already allegedly on the outs with Nickal, Brooks won't be happy, how will Cael feel about things?
  9. No problem. I enjoyed your thoughts on the matter.
  10. Yes, that's why I said 50% chance of wrestling FOR a medal. Your points are all good. Hidlay has a couple of age group medals. Brooks is clearly better, but also a nightmare matchup for Hidlay. All of Hidlay's strengths are completely negated by Brooks (strength, gastank, underhooks). Hidlay has a fairly good shot of top 5, and has wins over medalists.
  11. Yes, PJ Duke if I recall. He has been to many Worlds as a training partner of both Cox and Snyder.
  12. If so, he's probably a 50% shot at wrestling for a medal. That would be my guess.
  13. I know a lot of guys absolutely love Mike Macch and practically fight over him to be their training partner. Would he ever fit into something like this?
  14. The best move would be to keep Coleman Scott on staff. He actually has experience running a program, and would be a tremendous asset to Taylor. Taylor understands the wrestling side of it, but will need someone who can actually navigate the administrative side of things. Scott might be the best guy for this job. He's got experience, he knows the kids, and he's a Cowboy. Unfortunately, there might be an air of weirdness that would prevent this.
  15. Really reflective in how he trashed concussed Yianni!
  16. I made a similar post before seeing yours! Total agreement!
  17. I love how a month ago people were saying that DT would never leave State College 'because he has M2, and cows, and a juice bar!' lol
  18. This reminds me of Roy Batty's "tears in the rain" monologue in Blade Runner. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die."
