  1. Smith allegedly was arguing for Scott late in the game.
  2. Not to mention the Taylor twitter snarky attacks on Cox.
  3. Much shorter, more coherent response. I will respond to your silliness. I like how you caught me on 2002 not being 20 years ago. Good job, I was wrong. Doesn't change the fact that you had no idea the US didn't go to Iran for Worlds. I also love how you are critical of my math/recollection of years, yet say that 1972 was 50 years ago!!! Maroon and hypocrite. Waiting for your apology. I'm also very pro-athlete, personally knowing someone who was denied a shot in 1980. I'm so pro-athlete that I want them to stay safe and live live.
  4. The theory was that Vince was giving him more time to develop than others might have. Vince allegedly really wanted to see things work out so badly, that he gave him more time than he might have given others. This would make sense as to why they kept him around so long.
  5. Weight cuts. Alertness. Fight through fatigue. Increased aggressiveness. Probably missing out on a bunch. I mean, I take gels with added caffeine on long runs/races for some of the same benefits. Prob less of an effect with caffeine though.
  6. Richie Figs tweeted hinting that Parco and Schultz are sell-outs. Schultz aunt fired back.
  7. It is how I remembered it, but not 100% certain. Was hoping for some help!
  8. Huh? I''m not reading all of this. I'll skim. Paris will have way, way better security than Istanbul. And we missed the Worlds in 2002. Specific threats made. I was working with a team member and a coach when stuff started going down. Please brush up on history.
  9. One of my former students has done the whole process for the past several years. Wrestled multiple ranking series, four continentals, and two worlds. Not going to Istanbul...
  10. I don't find it doubtful at all. I generally doubt the Minnow, but he's unlikely to try to make PSU or their athletes look bad.
  11. There's still a decent chance that DT could represent the USA in the Olympics... This may not be a good time for him to take a big job!
  12. Maybe Cael will promise to make him Associate Head Coach and a handshake deal that DT will be the next PSU coach when Cael retires? That type of handshake deal is like an absolute ironclad guarantee in college athletics from what I have heard.
  13. A badger fan gave several examples on another thread. I did not try very hard to look through the old threads.
  14. Yep, and no one will do anything crazy to harm Israelis these days, right? Why didn't the US go to the Worlds when they were in Iran? (less than 20 years ago)
  15. Wisconsin extends coaches and releases them all the time.
  16. I'm a federalist bro, we don't get triggered. I stopped reading after that, sorry. Just not worth dealing with millennial or Gen Z vocab today.
  17. You were pointing it out on my post, which was specifically about Iowa. I can certainly make assumptions when you respond to my post which had a particular purpose, that clearly went over your head. Desanto was not a choir boy on the mat at Iowa, but he was held accountable and his behavior improved. He didn't try any kyaku ude-garami under the Brands.
  18. Part of the issue might be that he was a "Vince MacMahon guy." From what some "smart marks" have told me, Vince was giving him a ton of chances and really wanted him to succeed. Vince has had a tumultuous year at WWE, and now is history. Gable's other Rabbi, Lesnar is also persona non grata in WWE. Not sure who made the call, but Steveson's (presumably) two biggest backers are gone, and that may have made it easier to cut ties.
  19. Desanto was not on Iowa when that occurred. It never happened again when he was on Iowa. Facts are tricky little things.
  20. Yes. Lots of success over Coleman Scott for one thing. Also: Tremendous program builder and developer of talent. Tons of job security. Why go to Stillwater, which has much tougher competition in Big 12, worse location (sorry; I really like the triangle), to a school that has a history of firing a reigning coach of the year for taking 2nd in NCAA?
