  1. But it does matter, as we just saw in Stillwater. We have had people tight with the program over the years claiming they knew who would be next... and they were all wrong.
  2. Yes, I would challenge anyone who thinks that is a folkstyle move to find a video of someone hitting it in a folkstyle match that pre-dates Dave Schultz. Good luck!
  3. Nice to see that folkstyle move making in an impression in Freestyle! Thank goodness for the PSU influence! I wonder who showed Dave how to do that? Do you think it was Zain? Or maybe Max Dean?
  4. Interesting... I wonder how Coleman Scott, Zach Esposito, and Chris Perry would respond to this?
  5. Maybe. I remember one with a ton of screaming throughout.
  6. I love this as a "bow and arrow." I mean he has an ankle and is applying forward pressure. That's about where the similarities end. Dave Schultz called it a "bent leg turk" btw (what is commonly called a bow and arrow)
  7. Yep. Someone who hasn't seen it in freestyle hasn't watched a lot of Dave. Wasn't there a match where he had someone screaming from it? Makybe Koll? I couldn't find it on YouTube. The late great Morris Johnson had a great story on TheMat.com about Dave putting the hold on him and seeing his own foot so close to his head. Claimed that in the moment he thought it was Schultz foot and said to himself "wow... Dave has the same shoes as me."
  8. Because his knees were hurt. He did an interview with Bader a few months back, He explained a lot of what was going on. A lot of the choices being made regarding NCAA/freestyle were his choices, meaning his father was also probably heavily involved. And he did kick the tires on the freestyle scene Won US Open in 2019, teching Vito along the way.
  9. It is a lot like when deep OTT runs were predicted fow winners of Last Chance Qualifier. These guys looked good against a field of wrestlers who had not yet qualified. Keep that in mind. Could they do in August? Yes, but both were fortunate to qualify the weight against a bunch of guys who won't be in Paris.
  10. Yeah, I learned it as a freestyle move. You can actually roll it through for multiple exposures the way you would a gut or lace. You don't see it that much internationally, though. Thank you. It appears more people need to watch more freestyle. Dave Schultz popularized the technique in the US.
  11. Except that a bent leg TURK came from freestyle.
  12. I always keep in mind that this guy got a doctor to sign off on a TUE for TRT:
  13. I am about 110% sure that Spencer and his dad had a HUGE say in how he was used at Iowa. Don't blame the Brands for anything.
  14. Bro admitted to trying to will himself to "walk on water" during his weight cut... Wasn't he repeating it like a mantra? Almost as if he is the Christ-like character in his own narrative.
  15. Weird how he never found an he had an attention deficit disorder until after high school. Who wouldn't have a difficult time studying overseas while attending a world tourney?
  16. His ill will toward Taylor and company, didn't seem very Christ-like. Him saying he 'hopes they find the way' (or whatever) isn't being said with sincerity. Just sounds like some words to cover up his true feelings.
  17. But then said he loves and trusts Gilman, has no ill will toward him.
  18. My bad! You got me! Central Oklahoma's stadium is named after him. And he's only worth 1.6 billion, despite what I read on another forum.
  19. My bad! You got me! Central Oklahoma's stadium is named after him.
  20. Facility will have no natural light... because it ain't getting built. Nice Minecraft project though, Dresser!
  21. And me Irish ass would be at the dermatologist 40x a year as opposed to 4.
  22. Penn States big donor is Ira Lubert. I believe he is worth 25 million? PSU wrestling alum. OSU just got Chad Richison to sign on. He is worth $6 billion. I believe he wrestled at Centra Oklahoma. He is committed to helping OSU wrestling now. Currently, he has donated so much money to OSU athletics that the football stadium bears his name.
