I have no major problem either, but this earlier post is the first time I saw someone say that Lee was underwhelming in 2019-2020. He won the Hiodge AND the SULLIVAN! Yes, "very mid." Not to mention he demolished a strong field at the US Open, including a tech over Vito--- during the folkstyle season (wearing no knee brace).

But, Lee only lost once...

I think that some of us have some "primacy effect" to counterbalance the recency bias.

That's a lot of writing to MISCHARACTERIZE everything. Was 2020 nationals cancelled or not? Did Lee ever lose to Pat Glory? Did Lee tech the fearsome Vito in freestyle during that 2019-2020 season? Did Lee lose twice at NCAA during his second season (like Abas) or ever? (No) And if Lee places at Worlds in September, the argument is over.

But Lee was forced to miss an NCAA tournament (in which he wrestled the entire season and was healthy and in prime shape) whereas Abas chose to miss both of his seasons. Also, Lee was competing in a field with a lot of other sixth years, Abas was not.

There was an update on an Iowa board saying: "Saw a message from his wife . He opened his eyes yesterday and was able to follow commands and squeeze her hand . They're starting to wean him off the sedation . He's in a tough fight but that is some positive news" I'm hoping it is accurate. I just double checked and didn't think it was so bad upon second listen. I think the first time I listened was on a 12 mile run or something and may have been miserable. So at about 5:00 he basically says that he can't see Spencer beating him. OK. I get it. Then he comes back at like 8:00 and says Rivera took Spencer down 3-4 x in a match, so he pretty much sounded like he knew he'd be able to do the same. Talks briefly about some of Spencer's close matches and about being thrown by Ramos in the dual. Critical of Lee's awareness when caught in the position that got him pinned. It is possible that he mentions him again, but I started skipping through and didn't hear much. He loves Vito and liked Pat Glory though!

Abas HATES that people think Spencer Lee is even in the conversation. He was on "Wrestling Changed my Life" circa 2023 and was clearly disparaging Lee.

It is an NCAA champs list, but they intentionally didn't mention whether freestyle results were included as a criteria. They said they were going to leave it up to the individual to determine if they wanted to include freestyle. They also did not specify if it were a "best version of this wrestler" or "best career" team. Members of the Flo staff said they were definitely considering "best version" in some comes over "best career." So the criteria were intentionally ambiguous, except you needed to win a title b/w 01 and 25.

I'm actually somewhat amazed that Flo realized the quarter century starts in 2001.

Basically. But it was a Cornell fan basically talking about how anyone who gets into Cornell could easily get into West Point. Which is clearly not accurate. I also wouldn't say I'm combative. I'm having a discussion, which is basically the point here. But the Cape/Cabo thing needed to be ready in context... another member talked down to someone who said "Cape" and said they were two different things. I was just telling him that he was actually in the wrong. Then he doubled down and I showed him again. I wouldn't have cared otherwise.
