  1. "Beau and Mark, a former teammate who requested anonymity due to fear of retaliation, alleged Starocci took nonconsensual explicit photos of them in the Nittany Lions’ locker room. Beau said the photos were reported to Sanderson along with the theft, but nothing came of it from the coach. “I walked out of the shower to a snapshot from (Starocci) of me, naked,” Beau said. “The team had a snapchat group chat that he filled with those kinds of pictures of teammates.”"
  2. Why stop there? Why not chemically neuter the entire population of happy valley On second thought, there is no fate worse than being forced to subsist on nothing but cinnabons for a year
  3. He could probably still get punched in the face for a living
  4. In the article it is stated that Bartlett said he reported the pictures to the coaching staff. If true, is that worse than the kingpin drug ring that downed Jrob?
  5. In light of recent events what are some prognostications on how things shake out? One or more coaches get canned? Team suspended? Onslaught of transfers out? Bill Bassett appointed new head coach? Cael out, Casey up to the head helm? Or does virtually nothing change at all?
  6. After the house settlement, NIL is supposed to go through a Clearinghouse, no? Wouldn't that make 7 figure deal highly unlikely for a wrestler?
  7. This is your response to the very serious news coming out of PSU, to make it about Iowa?
  8. The only rant he'll go on is how everyone that believes this is part of the deep state/climate change gate/epstein-weinstein pedo pizza galleria I kid, I kid. I expect the response to be in line with their response to the Gilman, Snyder, and original Beau Bartlett news
  9. I haven't used Snapchat since my whoring days but I believe messages and pictures exchanged on the app disappear after a set period of time. Still, there might be screenshots!
  10. Maybe he'll invite the haters to perform fellatio on him and Carter in the PSU locker room this time
  11. Some of the stuff in that article is so disgusting and atrocious I can't even bring myself to make my usual jokes about Carter Starocci's method acting The stuff about Starocci touching Beau and other teammates inappropriately in front of Cael and co, taking nude photos of his teammates and these pictures allegedly being showed to Cael who decided to make nothing out of it is really hard to believe. I'm sorry, I don't want to make light of this situation but I just can't imagine that coaching staff would ignore things of this perverse nature
  12. Thanks for putting this together. Surprised that not more of our reps aren't going. Are there going to be any other worthwhile tune up tournaments after this before worlds?
  13. A small part of my post got deleted earlier so I'll be brief: I have a very strong feeling that many of the boosters, deep down, are more comfortable being a near lock at 2nd-4th (and the rare 5th) than taking a gamble on the new and unknown. I believe I read a post on HR in the past where Bob claimed he would be "done when Tom's done" so whoever the next coach is better generate an elephant's worth of eggcitement in order to keep the cash flowing
  14. If you don't want to read the rambling paragraphs I mashed on my phone below, the "too long, didn't read" version is: I would be eggcited by a coaching staff if I was confident a realistic improvement was available. Long version: I would be onboard with a coaching change right now if there was an eggciting but realistic new option available (was eggcited by the David Taylor to Iowa rumors when they swirled around briefly) or if there was an eggsisting staff change that would guarantee equal or better results. Look, I'm not a Brands apologist. I think there are obvious deficiencies in the current staff makeup and when I look at Iowa wrestlers, even as an Iowa fan, I see weaknesses - relatively "poor" scrambling being one of them. Additionally, even though it's cool to have a long standing streak of getting wrestlers into the finals, consistently coming up short has just gotten eggstremely tiresome. I also have to say that, although I've had very positive (albeit brief) interactions with TnT, and it is encouraging to see how positively the wrestlers have spoken about the staff, particularly from this past season (but of course, not ignoring the many puzzling burned bridges from years past), the matside antics and weird post/pre match interviews are less than Gucci. I think Brands may have had his hands tied in regards to Bill Bassett's demands (if we can even believe what the pundits are putting out there as to the reason for the break up) but I can't help but think that Brands probably didn't navigate that tension with the most elegance. NOW, with that out of the way, Im just not convinced there is a REALISTIC option out there right now that could step in and practically immediately improve on results - Iowa fans and boosters will not tolerate an 8th place finish. Lots of people like to poo poo the staff (within decent reasoning) and claim others could do it better but yet somehow conveniently manage to ignore the fact that no program outside of PSU has performed consistently better than Iowa. For a minute there, it looked like Ohio State was going to be the big number 2, but, although the future looks promising, they went through a really rough patch. That won't be tolerated at Iowa. There was a lot of hype and admiration for what NC State has been doing, but then they went ahead and had the worst collapse at NCAAs that I can remember 2 years ago. That won't fly at Iowa. Even Nebraska - the future looks very bright - but prior to this past year they had even worse shortcomings and disappointments at NCAAs than Iowa and were often the butt of jokes online. So, for those calling for a change, I hear ya and I'm with ya. But who could actually step in and do better?
  15. Even though I agree with the core of your point, that being 19 as a junior is (a little) odd, I think it's important to be rigorous about where we get our data from. Or else we're no better than the soviets!!/s
  16. Nobody, including papa Bassett, is saying that was the reason for the fallout To keep things brief, from what I gathered, Bill Bassett wanted Bo and Melvin to train at the RTC whenever (and, according to rumors, that the expenses should be covered by someone else). Tom said the compliance department said no. I've also have read repeatedly that Bill Bassett either 1) wanted to have a say in/influence over how training was conducted or 2)offered his unsolicited opinion on how training should be conducted. I've read and heard a bunch of other unsubstantiated claims on what else was demanded but I think that is all hokey. My uninformed opinion is that tensions have been brewing for quite some time and this was just the latest incident that led to a final snap
  17. Both parties have fully moved on. There is nothing to salvage nor a pathway for doing so save a regime change in one or both parties (new Iowa coaching staff, new Bassett patriarch)
  18. Jesus fookin Christ dude. There was nothing racially motivated about that post whatsoever. For someone who obviously lurks on HR like it's a part time job I guess you missed the many posts Bnicky has made that were positive about Iowa wrestlers, including Buchanan and Real Woods? Gabe Arnold apparently was partying, or at least not taking training seriously last off season. Perhaps he is reverting to some of those habits this off season and that is what Bob was referring to. I get that you are a passionate hater but this is utter weak sauce and limpdick behavior Edit: Bnicky gives me the creeps and this post wasn't an endorsement of his posts or behavior across carte blanche. Rather, I think the attempt to take this a point it doesn't need to go to is what I was railing against
  19. Since you so conveniently moved the goal posts I will heretofore contend that anytime Lee scores, it's a scramble. Anytime he gets scored on, his opponent "hit a move"
  20. Kinda weird how a bunch of people implied Brands cheated (donor NLI) in getting Bo to commit and now are ragging on him for not cheating and getting him to say. Also hilarious that Keegan Bassett was so quick to implicate every other program in being willing to break rules - and that the family expected it!
  21. I agree with a good portion of what you wrote here but including Lee was a smooth brained move and shows that either your judgement is clouded or you never watched much of him wrestle. Even Ben Askren had him at the top of his list of best scramblers in the country
  22. The family (dad?) wanted to tell Tom how to train/run the program but also wanted paid flights to get their kids to the RTC to train whenever they wanted? Giving so much special treatment to one family is a quick way to ruin a team's culture so I don't blame Tom for taking a stand. However, I can easily imagine him being less than tactful with how he communicated all this to the family and that has been a persistent problem
  23. If you say so bro. My experience has been that he does this often, even when trying to communicate something fairly basic or benign. Granted, I tuned out of "The First Word" awhile back so I don't see every show he's on, but I do listen to most of Basch and the "Brain"
  24. Yeah. Lots of pauses and word finding difficulty
