  1. Have we heard from RBY since NCAAs?
  2. I'm bummed it did not work out for Lou, and also very surprised. No matter where he lands or what he does, I will be a fan. He's a good dude for sure.
  3. To be fair, I started this topic right after Midlands or somewhere after the first half of the season... The ducking this year was quite a bit better than the year before. Maybe some coaches heard things loud and clear. Who knows? Again, I do think it is time to start looking at moving wrestling to late winter/early spring sport and perhaps some aspects of the college grind won't be as brutal.
  4. Just an awful story... https://edition.cnn.com/2023/03/21/us/kentucky-university-cumberlands-grant-brace-death-settlement/index.html?utm_source=fbCNN&utm_term=link&utm_content=2023-03-22T03%3A00%3A36&utm_medium=social&fbclid=IwAR06Sh91GHRc3ZtSrRs_cscNz1ZKmjO4wTlmMXgMJTTL4uW5HkOr3a-xdNg
  5. Three questions: 1. Why was Nate Jackson so mad at his quarter round ref? Dude must have really pi$$ed him off as that isn't something I have seen out of him. 2. What was the Gerogian saying to the ref bout his tricep in the bronze match with Desanto? Tell him to stop grabbing my tricep so hard? 3. At the end of the bronze match, what was up with Desanto's eyeballs?
  6. Becasue of Asken or because of Bono? Rest assured, I am not an Askren fan, but to imply it is all on Ben...talk to some SDSU people.
  7. It looks like the 30-minute doc is free on Flo. Take some time and check it out. There are many inspiring people, and the world certainly needs this kind of positivity.
  8. If there was ever Flo content that should be free, it is the story of Dunia Sibomana. What an incredible story and such a humble, grateful, and tough young man. The people around him seem wonderful too. Can anyone update on how he is doing this year?
  9. He's going to have to get a big time exciting name on his staff to even get elite kids entertaining the Idea of Indiana.
  10. Rutgers! Hoosiers took the University of NJ too.
  11. I dont know. Kinda. Damn wrestlestat got in my head.
  12. That was a little too close.
  13. It seems like the Princeton Tigers have just spiraled into an abyss. Monday seems to be doing Ok, but they have taken some huge losses including to Harvard tonight. What gives?
  14. Hoosiers!
  15. Do wrestling programs get the equilivent cash of 9.9 out of state scholarships that can distribute how they want? For example of the pretend University of New State charged $50.000 for out of state students the wrestling program has $495,000 to spread around?
  16. Hey- Can someone help me out? What kind of mat is flo using?
  17. Just listened to the Brian Smith pre-scuffle interview on Flo. He makes it clear both coaches and athletes want changes to the traditional college wrestling season. From this point forward I am no longer going to be disappointed and accept unless I am watching the actual NCAA tourney, nothing really matters and to expect forfeits and no-shows.
  18. I should add that I am not bitter or resentful about what is happeneing. Clearly, coaches and athletes are looking to redefine the college wrestling grind: who they see, the length of the season, how they compete, etc... Heck, I just listened to David Taylor in a recent podcast discuss how he is exploring new ideas in his training and competition schedules. The writing is on the wall that those pushing to the highest levels of our sports want changes. For example, I think it makes great sense to move wrestling to one semester and, especially in a sport that requires intense weight management, away from Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the holidays. I would have loved to enjoy time back at home in December, and then start getting after it in mid January. I cannot imagne anyone who has been through such would disagree that.
  19. It pretty much seems more and more coaches and athletes do not really want to wrestle outsdie of the big show in March anymore. Even at most of the big time duals, the marquee matches often do not happen. Instead of disappointng fans, let's just cut all the b-ll s--t and start with the conference tournaments, take two weeks off to rest, and then hold NCAA Finals and be done with it. Sheesh.
  20. Coach Reyes and Coach Hinkle had All-Americans year in and year out. I would think the Purdue faithful would start being a little concerned at this point.
  21. They need someone to finally end that dcade long run. Coach Ersland has been there a long time and he seems like a great recruiter, but maybe beating Indiana most the time is good enough.
  22. Just noticed Purdue took two pretty big losses to Drexel and Campbell. Last year they looked solid and like they were on their way up. Are a number of starters out? Injuries? Or is this just where they are again?
  23. I have to ask... Who is the Arizona State guy on the floor during the Sasso-Parco match wearing what looks like 50 lbs. of gold and diamonds on his neck and wrists?
  24. ...are taking care of business this weekend. Indiana takes out #23 Princeton 22-13 Maryland upsets #17 Pitt 18-16
  25. You may wanna recheck that. To quote Metcalf, "I'm not a world anything."
