  1. Haven't I read that tOSU i a possibility for some other Bishop McCourt wrestlers, too?
  2. Just saw Dunia Sibomana from New York won Fargo juniors at 113. If you do not know his amazing story, you should. The young man is inspiring.
  3. Dude, this is so lame and tired... A couple of things to point out: 1. Me saying, "I will eat my hat if..." is the same as saying, "I will be shocked if..." Had I written that I guess you would expect me to take a hit from a taser or jump in a hot tub with a hair dryer should Basset put Michgan in his final four? You are a very literal guy. 2. Nowhere did I bet anyone anything. You are not on the hook for anything should I be wrong, so how could that be a bet? All that being said, If I can post something without doxing myself, maybe the my hat thing will happen in the spirit of fun. Maybe.
  4. All true, but Hofstra was once pretty darn good in the not-so-distant past. One would think there are solid possibilities there.
  5. I believe he did JV wrestling in tenth grade...and then intramural basketball in eleven and twelve. Tells ya all ya need to know.
  6. Looks like Russia wrestling is out. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/12697345-russian-wrestling-team-to-completely-opt-out-of-olympics
  7. Good for her, I guess. Still makes me sad. I have no idea why 'wrestling is a thing.
  8. Obviously, the idiom/figurative speech of "eating one's hat" is a bit much for some of you to wrap your heads around; rest assured, I will arrange some sort of hat-eating restitution if I am wrong. FWIW, I have zero insight into the Bassett camp's mind. I simply went with the top four of pretty much every elite-level recruit and set aside Michigan in favor of the new Taylor-led Cowboys.
  9. Maybe this is fun, but let's be real. I will eat my hat if the final four teams are not Penn State, Iowa, OSU, and tOSU.
  10. Absolutely, but no ones starts surfing, skateboarding , and breakdancing to compete and with anyone other than themselves. Unlike basball and wrestling, competing with others to win isnt even on the radar.
  11. I get that, and one must concede that gymnastics has done a ton of work in recent-ish years to try to remove all the ambiguity and such from its scoring systems, but still... creating a contest to set something up like a sport does not make it a sport. Breakdancing, like ballet, surfing, and skateboarding, is far more accurately categorized as art and human expression. I am pretty sure the most hardcore b-boys and skaters would agree with me.
  12. At least BMX racing is an actual sport. The fastest person wins; I dont have much problem with that. Its all the flippy-dippy, synchronized stuff where one competes for style points while wearing make-up, costumes, and a smile that have no place in the Olympics. Just because something takes incredible athletic ability does not make it a sport. Have you ever watched the best tap dancers in the world? They are seriously badass. Still, tap dancing aint a sport.
  13. A bunch of unregulated, ultra-rich bros promising 17-year-olds 10 million plus dollars to sportball... What could possibly go wrong?
  14. Did you know it is entirely possible to root for Team USA, think Brooks is a tool, and have huge respect/enjoy watching others in the 86kg bracket all at the exact same moment?
  15. Now that Z is done. I really hope the grizzly old Turk wins his match at 74kg. The dude is old school, tough, and his beard deserves to be at the Olympics.
  16. Congrats to Lee and Retherford. Awesome.
  17. Didn't Jordan Oliver do year for EXACTLY this?
  18. That's awesome. I'm still perplexed why they chose not to include any windows, but no matter. Anyone know what will happen to the old wrestling space?
  19. Or MM, knowing he is beaten, does a bunch of cheap sh-t to do all he can to give Nolf an advantage.
  20. I dont think there is much wannabe about Downey at all. He pretty much qualifies in my book.
  21. This was fun to watch. Unfortunately, Illinois and Wisconsin are not on the schedule this year, but this year sure has been fun to watch. Obviously the next step is a Hoosier All-American. Fingers crossed that come sooner rather than later.
  22. Oh yeah. I forgot about filters. I'm old.
  23. Is that really him?
  24. Did you predict Iowa State would win even without Carr in the finals? Predictable? Nonsense.
  25. Washington has done well at Indiana. He went from a zero-time state champ to being a very solid D1/B1G wrestler. He could absolutely be a r12 guy this year and maybe even find a way on the podium. I wish this would help some recruits see some light at Indiana and Coach Escobedo could finally land the next generation of Hoosiers that will open more doors for him. That being said, as painful as the end of the Goldman era was, he still put his guys on the podium and even sent a few to the national finals...three times they won. Like everyone else, I think Escobedo is the sort of man I would want my own kid to wrestle for, but sadly am starting to lose hope again
